I second that. Just buy it... I'm one of the one's who couldn't wait and bought my T60p in Feb. and paid $2999 for it (you forgot the $150 rebate, too)...and I've got no regrets (except maybe that I did NOT reinstall XP). :D I will say, however, that they coulda waited another couple of months befor...

Well, I just switched over to IBM after years of being a Dell user. I've not used the new platform that Dell just released but it doesn't matter...I'm not buying it. I had an M60 for a year and a half and then an M70 for a year. There is no way that Dell makes anything as nice as the T60p I'm typing...

Creaks
I had seen several threads recently on the "squeeky palmrest" and had given this some thought after reading through those...because I've never heard a squeek outta mine.
My T60p creaks. But it creaks less than any other lappy I've ever had...

T60(p) Battery UPgrade
For anyone who hasn't tried this or has a T60 on the way, you GOTTA get the 6 cell (and don't wait a month like I did). This thing is like a whole new lappy w/ the 6 cell! Much more balanced, lighter and easier to hold...I much prefer the 6 cell so it was worth the ~$150!

I'm here to tell you... If you like SXGA+ on 14" you will love UXGA on 15". I now know what I didn't like about my high res dells. The widescreens. With the height you get on 4:3, even 1600x1200 is very readable on this 15" IPS. Then you start adjusting font styles (use cleartype) and font dpi to ma...

Verizon service is fine and Acad rocks!
I've been on the Verizon EVDO service for almost a month now and it's been just fine. Both Verizon and Sprint (PC Card) services are nice in this area but the external card does win out on burst and even signal strength. Now, not to hijack the thread, but I'm running Acad '04 on my T60p and man it's...

Yeah, it's the 15" model. I think the screen makes up half the weight of the thinkpad. That's a very good observation. It was one of the first things that I noticed about mine...and it's the exact opposite of any other lappy I've ever used. Usually, the LCD assembly/housing/hinges/screen/etc kinda ...

This new Intel card is SOLID. Great read. Thanks. I am hoping that you are saying that the T60 comes with the INTEL card and normally it is rock-solid. That gives me hope that the replacement will be fine. Otherwise, all I am going to get is another T60 with the same issues. No, I meant the Atheros...

ah, thanks, so is there a company that most people are ordering there memory from? cosair? etc? From what I've seen, yes. I did...and it was corsair. so then is 2g the max config I could have on this computer unless I swapped out the first slot with a larger stick? Well, not really. You could leave the 1gb stick in and then add a 2gb stick for a total of 3gb but that would cost you about $1400 just for the 2gb stick. To get the max of 4gb (still...

Hello, I have t60p with 1 g memory but would like to upgrade. First, how many slots are there available and what are my options. Is the1 gig standard 2 512's in 2 slots or 1 g memory in 1 slot? OK, let me see if this is what might be going on. May be the LCD screen (when the graphics are on 32-bit mode) doesn't do millions of colours, but still more than my eye can discern; something which it can't pull-off in 16-bit? Because that's why I haven't once worked in 16-bit in years; the instan...
