How is this so? I've never removed my bios password before flashing and it has never failed.
Don't confuse the BIOS password with the HDD password.

I was having the same problems, though the gpu temperature was hitting about 92/93 degrees before it shut down. Check your air vent on the side; is there a substantial amount of air being pushed out by the fan? For me at least, I noticed barely any air coming out when the fan was spinning at full sp...

Confirmed. Going into my third year at Clarkson. Gave OIT a quick call and was affirmed those are the correct specs. It's a little later than usual this year for their specs on incoming freshmens' computers to be released.

I had the same problem on the Advanced Mini Dock. I originally thought it was a gadget on the sidebar accessing that port for monitoring. But ever since I unchecked iTunes and Quicktime from the startup tab in msconfig the problem has since gone away. Might work for you. As far as the shorting when ...

Ok, I put my order through tech support. Just so you know, their parts system has not updated and thus they do not know about the field kit. I must have told the tech the FRU number 5 times before he tried "other means" of searching it. He said it will be listed in their systems Monday morning with ...

I am having a similar problem and even called tech support. My personal belief is a crappy driver somewhere that is affecting the temperature. Tech support was no help in solving the issue. The most they could do for me was leave the case open and call me when they have a resolution.

To turn off indexing... Search for "index" and hit enter. Indexing Options should have opened up. Just go and delete which folders you don't want indexed. If you want it completely off, delete all folders. I find indexing very useful and I'm sure many others do. Sort of changes the way you use your ...

I wish I could get away leaving it on and individually selecting programs that need admin rights. Unfortunately, some programs still won't work with UAC turned on. Access to certain files is denied, and in particular to ModelSim, it cannot read my license file.

Bios is version 2.09. I updated from 2.01 because I was having a problem overheating when doing extensive work. I was hoping 2.09 resolved that. The problem started right after I updated the bios. Going to reinstall the Interface Driver and see if that does indeed fix the problem.

Did a power cycle, that did not work. I do believe it has something to do with the SM bios as there is a question mark beside it in DM. Anyone else seeing this? I also called tech support and at that time, they weren't aware of any problem but they are going to forward it to the right people.

The retail versions of Vista include both 32 and 64 bit editions on the DVD. However, for typical use, I would highly suggest waiting a while before making the switch. There is just not enough programs written for the 64 bit platform yet.

Same problem here. Thing is if I use one of the default power schemes everything is fine. However, if I create a custom power scheme then I get the same problem, the computer thinks it is in battery power.

That will work, but Lenovo has released System Interface Driver for Windows Vista.

This will work the same, but is developed for Vista, not XP.

T60p FireGL Waiters...

Well, it seems as if the ATI FireGL v5200 cards are currently delaying us who ordered our T60's with them. So basically, how does everyone feel about the wait? It's been hard on me... order date 2/9/06 with a est. ship date of 4/11/06. Is it even worth getting the FireGL card? I will be doing work w...
