Re: T440/p CLUNKPAD: Pics and installation of T450 Synaptics and Alps Touchpad+buttons

Thank you for this thread, I had no idea I bought Alps, just was wondering why none of Synaptic drivers wasn't working, lol. Well, it was working as a generic touchpad and buttons, just no control panel and settings. I'm interested though, is there any way to distinguish them without disassembly, lo...

Re: The first (AFAIK) T43p with a LED-lit AFFS LCD...PIC warning

Nice work, but I have a couple of questions. First, is Color rendering index http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_rendering_index became better or worse? Because there's some different led backlits, classic cfl occasionally has more smooth and natural colors. It's very hard to determine it from the ph...

Re: T61/p webcam mod. for 4:3 aspect ratio notebook

Almost a year passed, but I'm still to lazy for this mod.. By my count that leaves one free (or is it connected to the second miniPCIe slot? I understand that miniPCIe has some USB pins). Yes, AFAIK the free "WWAN-upgradeable" miniPCIe slot has it's own USB D+ and D-. But no +5V there, only +...

Re: T61/p webcam mod. for 4:3 aspect ratio notebook

Now thinking about the webcam mod too. I have a tiny netbook webcam module, with small USB cable with 4 wires. Is the hub really required? Since T60 has three external USB-ports, but four in the device manager and 4 is the minimum supported by chipset. Suppose there's some unused USB on board we can...

T60 and T43p - replacing CCFLs, parts compatibility

As already mention in this topic , I have a IPS T43p(UXGA) and a T60(SXGA+). Hard choice, but I still prefer SXGA+ resolution: websites looks better without scaling, and all UI is not too small. The screen color difference is huge(T60 is on the right, it's both white and max brightness): http://i.im...

So, you can say that I'm lucky it has EDID, and the only thing I need to swap these LCD's is a new SXGA+ cable?
There's some FRU 91P6892 on Ebay around 5-6$, hope it will fit.

Re: Can I fit a 14.1'' SXGA+ from T40 into my T60?

On the other hand, panels with the EDID from T60's or other machines will work on older machines, like the T40. Not much comfort in this scenario. My experience is opposite, I tried to switch 15" LCD's in T43p(UXGA) and a T60(SXGA+). Older machine can't correctly work with the new panel, but T60 ac...

You can experience li-ion battery degrading, and maybe some temporary LCD issues. Also moving parts like HDD and DVD can suffer. Everything else should be okay, just don't allow the condensation.

I don't want to know how to bypass it, just curious how can it helps to strengthen HDD security comparing to other laptops without this chip.

Re: Need help with a T61 repair - Orange Juice spill on keyboard

the most critical time is first 3-5 days with the liquid inside, after that you\'ll surely have non-repairable motherboard. At first, remove the battery and AC power, ASAP . The CMOS battery is less important, but remove it too. After dissasembling, wash the motherboard with clean water, distilled i...

Screen buzzling is a well-known issue with a TFT mobile phones, RAZRv3, for example, but I never heard it in a t30, or other laptops. In other hand, there are m...

AC adaptors swapping

I have a t30 and a30p laptops The power adaptor from t30 seems so small and handy - especially compared with the a30p's - it's much bigger, heavier, and have an annoying green LED on top. Yes, that's old story, it begins after appearance of desktop p4 CPU and comparing it with pIII.

I think that main advantage of p4m is higher clocking - you can't find a 2.6-2.8Ghz pIII cpu.
Other is DDR instead of oudated SDRAM, and - faster FSB.

And.. that's all?

Yes, it really runs on 1.2 - all programs shows that, includin RMCPU, Speedswitchxp, NCH and Intel tool. And, of course, various CPU benchmarks. But, with NCH and "on demand" profile it can vary speed from 1.2 to 2.2, IF the battery inserted. If not: http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/3431/thinkphh6...
