I have been using the 32 bit version since i got the laptop and it is working like a dream! I don't have more than 3GB of RAM so that was one big factor also in going with the 32 bit version. I also heard about the compatibility issues...all in all I am very happy with the 32 bit version! Recognized...

I ended up getting the t400s and i'm very pleased, I never used a x301 but I think the t400s is just the right size for me.

Got my replacement t400s and running Ubuntu, so far so good now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

So far no issues with my new t400s...I'm loving it (knock on wood).
I got rid of Windows already (which I had left for a couple of days for testing purposes),installed ubuntu and its running like a charm.

Congrats, i got my t400s today as well. This was a replacement since my previous one was defective, hopefully this one will be ok (crossing fingers).

I got mine to 13.4 on my t400s..dont think i'll be able to do much better...

Is your SSID being broadcasted? if its not , try changing that. I had issues in Ubuntu similar to what you describe, turns out Ubuntu does not play very nice with some hidden networks. Once i broadcasted my SSID it connected with no problems

I should be receiving my second t400s (replacement) tomorrow. Hopefully two times is a charm!

I just got my new t400s with Win7 Pro....im impressed on how much space the installation takes up. Out of the box, the install takes up 20GB of space!
I dont really see much bloatware so either the little bloatware there is takes up a lot of space or Win7 is just a huge install....

As far as the disks, I purchased a Dell for my parents right before Vista came out and the free upgrade disks also took about a month and a half to get to me, after release. I agree, I don't know what were they doing with the cd's for that long but maybe its Microsoft..?

My z60t is running great with Koala. Even the hidden network issues I had on 9.04 are gone. I can't wait to get my t400s and try it there.
Everything worked out of the box, even on my 6+ year old desktop where I had to struggle a bit with 9.04 getting the audio to work, this time around no issues!

I thought about doing that as well, getting it form elsewhere and just upgrading it myself. I'll see how the 5100 works and go from there and if i get a good deal on the 5300 I'll probably get it.
