7K200 drive is important, as space and performance are sorely needed. However, I've heard reports that it's quite hot and noisy. Off topic, but had to reply, the 7K200 is awesome, no noise difference from the 7K100 and seems even cooler! I am very happy with my upgrade... aside from the Core2Duo 2....

I use the XP bootloader (which gets "wrapped" inside the Vista bootloader) and it works good. I select OSX and then select the OSX partition to boot from and press enter... (you do need to setup the delay in OSX startup for this to work tho!) Alternatively, you can install Acronis OS Selector and ha...

Confirmed 802.11n Enabler (AirPortEnabler.kext) BREAKS Audio
OK, this seems major so I decided to make a thread of it's own rather than keep appending to an older 802.11n thread. Background: ThinkPad T60 (2623-D8U) Upgraded using Lenovo 802.11 a/b/g/n Atheros AR5008 card, running OSX 10.4.8 with Kernel 8.8.1 which recognizes it as an "Airport Extreme (0x168C,...

And after hours of testing I can confirm that the shear fact of adding the plugin called "AirPortEnabler.kext" in the Plugins folder of "IO80211Family.kext WILL BREAK SOUND on a Thinkpad or anyone using the AppleAz...

I since upgraded to the Belkin N1 Router and have therefore installed the Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11n Enabler patch. Following that I got 802.11n to work @ 144Mb (as per Network Utility) but LOST the sound!!! I tried to re-install the moded "AppleAzaliaAudio.kext", fixed permissions, even did a su...

WWAN EvDO in OSX on T60/X60/Z60 (Sierra Wireless MC5720)
I was poking around in my 10.4.8 Jas Install and under System Profiler I looked at recognized hardware. Going to the Hardware/USB section I noticed that OSX is recognizing my miniPCI Sierra Wirelesss EvDO card under USB devices as " Sierra Wireless MC5720 Modem "!!! Here is the info reported by Syst...

In what way is VCOM Partition Commander different then Acronis or any of the other PC partitioning utilities? None I know of seem to be able to expand an HFS+J partition right now. I even called Acronis and they said they have no plans to build support for it. Guess they are a bit shortsighted... Wh...

Thank you [daeojkim] and everyone else that has shown interest in this "project". Lenovo Driver + Sierra Watcher = Perfect Combination
The Lenovo driver itself works great but it is not going to work standalone, it was designed to work with Lenovo's Access Connections software. I have a feeling most people will turn off the new Vista Aero theme once they get bored with it and revert to a classic look. OK, here goes: 1. It would be nice if you could edit your post and add a link to the patch for people to use it as I cannot believe it is copyrighted or illegal to do so since it does not bypass activation. 2. The REAL reason YOU are having that problem is not related to the registry or anything on ...

Hmmm.. I answer my questions yet again :-) Looking closely at the August 2006 TabBook from HERE it seems that the entire 2623 series (both T60's and T60p models) support TCG v1.2 This must mean the Atmel TPM drivers from XP are not good enough so that Vista Beta 2 recognizes the chip properly. A Vis...

OK, while experimenting with Vista Beta 2 (5384) I managed to install the Atmel TPM chip drivers using the ones from the Lenovo site HERE I then tried to run "tpm.msc" to see if Vista liked the TPM chip and will allow me to play with BitLocker (hardware encryption of data on HD), but it did not work...

Now, does anyone have any constructive ideas or has managed to get the T60p with the Atheros mPCIe card to work at 108Mbps? No one will answer that question. Because 40Y7026 is actually an Atheros AR5006EX module and 54Mbps is its max. http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=27043&sid=484d5abb29...
