Can't uninstall R&R 3 or Client security 6

I wanna uninstall them because it is needed before installing new versions.

I can't manage to uninstall those. Probably a stupid bug but...
What can I do ?

Thanks fuscob.

Yes I'm sure it is the cause, playing WoW will trigger the same issue as well as anything CPU heavy which longs a certain time.

There's less problem without Ultrabase and without AC adapter (huh) but we all now X60 heats up more with those.

NHC2 and Vista SP1

I can't manage to make NHC work correctly under Vista SP1, it will tell me it could not change CPU speed.

Is this an isolated issue or this is general compatibility problem since SP1 is out?

x60 going to standby when too hot

My x60 when running hot is going straight to standby. Noy possible to have it back (it goes back to stand by immediately again) if I do not wait for it too be cooler. This is really annoying of course. What would you recommend? Should I put a drop of thermal paste on the CPU or go for a warranty rep...

Thinkvantage progs/utilities and Win2003

Are those utilities usable (not supported I know but I don't care) on Win2003 ?

I'm getting annoyed by XP and would gladly use Win2003 converted to workstation use.

X60 going into standby when hot

I noticed a couple days ago that my X60 goes into standby automaticaly when running hot.I did notice before because I stoppoed playing WoW and usually I do not use the CPU at full power. It is of course VERY annoying.Could this be caused by a driver or be cured by a full reinstall? Wow on my X60 is ...

Presentation Director keeps crashing

Presentation Director (latest version from System Update) keeps crashing when changing external LCD resolution to 1280*1024.

I reinstalled to whole system and nothing's better :( It fails with a 'Memory can't be 'read'"-type error.

Is that version total crap or is my X60 going crazy?

Thanks !

6.5 with LCD set to max is about normal IMO. I'd be you I would (when unplugged) put LCD to the minimum you're confortable with. When I use it in my bed (yea, happens when my wife's sleeping already) I set LCD to minimum or minimum+1. Doind office-type work in this situation with Wifi On (but BT off...

Depends on the use you make of your lappy.

Frankly, on a day to day use of office-like apps, I'm not sure a 7200rpm is really faster. At least, if your lappy is not your only computer, just use 5400rpm.

If you don't care about space but care about speed only, get a 7200 rpm.

You don't care much about read/write speed, it is always slow in a laptopn anyway (because of small size HD) but you will care about access time. 7200 rpm drives are way faster for that. If you're fed up waiting for your laptop HD to find data somewhere on the disk, you should go 7200 rpm. If you do...

Personnaly I'd find a lot more appealing a screen with a higher resolution. if it is an uultralight: cool but more resolution is more important for me.

It depends a lot on the power comsumption of the external drive.
I guess you could probably get 2 movies if all wireless is disabled and screen not too bright.

But you should know that optical drives are battery eaters. If you can, rip those to your hard drive and read'em from there.

You can. The only thing you can't do is the opposite: using the slim 4cells on a X60. Any other combination of batteries <-> X60(s) is possible.

The IBM one (green one) is way more reliable than the default windows meter (little blue icon in system try area).

I ask windows to always hide this blue icon: don't care the heck anymore :)

54MBit is very very theoretical speed. You'll never achieve that. 10 to 20 real Mbits would be acceptable IMO.

I should make proper test but I'm really not surprised.
