Printer drivers not working on Vista
Warning: If you are using Samsung Laser Printer model ML-1710 and SCX-4210 Network Laser Printers . . . XP drivers don't work with Vista. I can't print. However, Canon's i255 bubble-jet is working in Vista. Manfred ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Think...

I think I am getting longer life on Vista!
I am not sure, but I think I am getting an increase of about 20% battery life on Vista.
Anyone with similar experience?
Also when pluged-in, I think my Thinkpad's fan is running louder ton Vista then XP.
This constant hummm.

Access Connection not working.
Nope, Access Connection is not working on my Thinkpad.
I could not get it to work at all.
I am using Vista Beta 2 - Build 5384.
However, the Atheros Driver contained within access connection does work on Vista.

Hi Guys, I have just installed Vista Beta 2 on my ThinkPad R51e. I had 1GB ram and Vista itself ate up about 400mb+. Aero ran smoothly on my Radeon X200m. Hardware issues: Wireless LAN, Wired LAN, Sound, is all working fine. Volume keys, Mute key is also working. Access IBM does not work. I don’t kn...

R-series discontinued in Hong Kong.
http://www-604.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=10000344&catalogId=-344&langId=344&categoryId=2056943 It's been over two weeks now, and the R-series has been missing from Thinkpad's Website in Hong Kong. I suspect perhaps it's being pulled from the Asian markets. Can anyone ...

Update on overclocking.
Would like to thank lithium726 for his detailed explanatory. Very much helpful indeed. :-) actually, you cannot do that. Basically, what these guys are doing is changing the signal that the BSEL0/1 pins are sending to the chipset on bootup. based on the combination of lo-hi on these two pins (00,01,...

Nope . . .
Interesting... It's hard for me to believe that you could even get the pins of the CPU back into the socket after placing a jumper that appears to be so large into the holes. Something doesn't smell right here. I'd love to hear input from others. Is this supposedly applicable to the 4M as well? Don...

More tips on overclocking the R51e
I used a single strand of copper wire from a modem line. That is just thin enough to fit into the two holes. Tips, their length is important - length of the copper wire just a tad bit longer than twice the length of a cpu pin. Use tweezers to get the job done properly. The entire process of taking a...

Overclocking R51e
I've a R51e with a Celeron M370 (1.5GHz) and have just successfully overclocked it to 2.0GHz. I am really pleased with the result. This is also my first post here . . . been lurking here for a while reading and learning. Instructions are here: http://manfred-lai.blogspot.com/ and here: http://www.ov...
