X41T charging problem
Hi all. A couple months ago I got a new X201T (wicked good machine) which consigned my faithful X41T to the shelf. The other day I found a need for it and decided to do a clean install. Things were going good until about halfway through the install when the machine just shut down with the smell of m...

X201T WWAN in Australia
Found myself on an unexpected trip back to the States (I live in Australia) and realised that my X41T needed replacement. Ordered an X201T and ticked pretty much all the boxes. Apparently one of the boxes I ticked got me the WWAN antenna/radio (I think it's the WWAN), the SIM card slot behind the ba...

X41T impending death?
I've got an X41T that's been a trooper for years now. In the past few weeks however random little glitches have been popping up. First it stopped detecting external monitors, refused to get out of 800x600, ran slow, randomly rotated the desktop 90 degrees (that was a fun one). Then it was all OK. Th...

Re: X41T and external monitor resolution
I searched high and low for the monitor drivers, but no dice. While looking for them however I came across someone in an nvidia forum who suggested that the monitor be unplugged for a few minutes, both video and power, then the PC booted up and everything plugged back in while device manager was ope...

X41T and external monitor resolution
Hi all. I've got an X41T with Win7 and an external monitor (1680x1050) hooked up to a dock. From the time that I installed Win7 until two days ago, the external monitor was running just fine at 1680x1050 with an extended desktop and the notebook running at 1024x768. I'd have to set the external moni...

Re: dozehdd.sys crashing computer
Active Protection was already uninstalled as a test, with no effect. As was Power Manager with all setting reverted back to Win7. Got tired of this little game this morning and reinstalled Win7, and did not install any Lenovo software from anywhere other than what Windows offered from Windows Update...

Re: Power Manager 3.2 battery tab freeze
Thanks for the leads, but none of that sorted anything out. I'm sort of at the point of just living with it and not clicking on the battery tab... Now if I could solve my "doesn't go to sleep without crashing error" I'd be happy... Just about at the point of reinstalling Win7 to see if that fixes ma...

Mine show this way too - T60p running Win7.

dozehdd.sys crashing computer
Hi all. T60p running Windows 7. When it's running, it's pretty good though I do on occasion bring it out of sleep mode and I'm missing a random USB device. The bigger issue is that when I put it to sleep, say about 50% of the time, it doesn't go to sleep. Sits there whirring away until at some point...

Power Manager 3.2 battery tab freeze
Hi all. I've been trying to track down some random system lockups and occasionally-dead USB ports on my Win7 T60p. Out of warranty, of course. Poking around in Power Manager I found a USB Selective Suspend setting, which I think fixed my occasionally-dead USB ports, but every time that I click on th...

OK, thanks much.

T60 fan in a T41
Hi all. I've got a BIOS bricked T60 that I'm likely going to just end up parting out (I've tried everything I can find for emergency BIOS recovery with no success). As luck would have it, my T41's fan has just started making death rattle noises. I got the idea that I might use the fan from the T60 i...

Fast HDD for T60p
Hi all. I'm looking to upgrade the stock HDD in my T60p. I currently have the Travelstar 7K100 100gb in my system and I use it heavily for working on large digital photos (14-bit .NEF files out of my D700, 16-20mb each). As it is incredibly laborious waiting for files of that size to load and displa...

I think I got it sorted. It appears to have been the TCP settings for XP, which I've been reading are pretty well unoptimised for fast connections. Seems that Vista has the ability to optimise the TCP settings on the fly whereas XP does not. I ran a TCP optimiser program that was recommended (unbloc...

Slow wireless speeds, but fast connection
I've got a T60p and an X41T in the house. I've always had a slow 802.11g connection (tops of 200kb/s) but figured that it had more to do with a dying 3Com ADSL2+ modem/router (dropped connections, finally just gave up). The router was just replaced with a Billion 7401VGPM and to my dismay I'm still ...

Just wanted to toss my hat in here... I too do a lot of photography work on my T60p - specifically a 2623DDU. I have the 1600x1200 IPS 15" screen with the 7200rpm drive and 1gb of RAM. I couldn't be happier with this machine for this work. I also use Photoshop CS2 and Bridge and the machine handles ...

I haven't had any graphics tearing issues to speak of. When I move windows around there are no leftover fragments - though on occasion I do get the mouse pointer remnants if I scroll using the scroll wheel on my Logitech mouse. If I scroll using the arrow keys or page down, there is no problem that ...

Initial reflections of OSX on a T60p
Hi all, I've just gotten OSX working on my T60p after futzing with it for a few days being stuck at 1024x768 (for details go to the sticky at the top of this forum). After playing around with it for a while, I have to say that OSX on this Thinkpad could be a slam dunk winner. It look nice, works gre...

Hi all, I've been visiting and revising this thread for several days now trying to get OSX working on my 2623-DDU. After long last, it finally works and I just wanted to post what I did in the hopes that it will for someone else. I took little bits and pieces from different guides to get my T60p wor...

Uninstall Rescue & Recovery
Hi all, Does anyone have a suggestion for getting rid of Rescue & Recovery? I've got the latest Acronis running on my T60p (2623DDU) as my backup solution and I'm really happy with it (and it's pretty quick, not terribly slow like a few reports I read). Anyways, I looked for Rescue & Recovery in Thi...

To keep the hidden partition on a clean install or not...
Hi all, I finally received my T60p this morning, 2623DDU. This took way, way too long to get here. But that's another story. My question is that I'm at the point now where I am going to clean install XP (I always clean install when I get a new system). I've created the R&R discs, so I'm wondering if...

Clean reinstall, hidden partition, and RnR questions
Hi all, I've got a few questions that I've been doing research on, but can't seem to find a specific answer to. Here's the situation. I've got an X41 Tablet that I'm about to do a clean install on according to the writeup by k0lo. I've got the option to keep the factory restore partition, or get rid...
