Re: Lenovo limits warranty on Outlet purchases to one year...

Any idea when this policy change came about?

I bought an x200 through the outlet early this month thinking that I'd be able to extend the warranty :?

It's just a guess since the daughter card's the main connector also holds it in place. The side plug is probably the modem sound connector that sends the sqeeks and squelches of dial up to the speakers. Tim S Gosh - I hope you guys are right!! Repair folks didn't give me a real breakdown of what th...

Didn't check the modem or ethernet before I put it in the shop...but yeah, wireless works still. I've never broken something with so little obvious effect :)

Busted connector - is this critical??

Hi all, So my power socket stopped working, and I took it upon myself to see what was happening (maybe it was just a loose connection). Along the way I managed to pull the daughter card socket right off the system board, pins and all! I can't find any documentation to tell me exactly what th...

sorry for the terse reply - but I'm too lazy to do the leg work... I'm using a T42 w/ the newer Dell 21" wide screen, and if I recall, I had to load some new drivers, and apply some patch to the system. I read about it here, so do a search for the various monitor product #'s and you might find somet...

so, I, um, "had cause" to find out what that hole is all about this afternoon. And on my 15in, the tube is just a bit of plastic, that appears to serve no purpose, being connected to a chunk of the bezel. I was thinking maybe it's an alignment thing, like a rod that goes through the casing, to get t...

A month later, I finally have my machine back up and running. After getting the thing back in awful shape, and sending it off to the depot again, I quickly got stuck an endless chain of "escalations" from office-to-office, without anyone wanting to take blame or culpability. Having a rather terse co...

UGH!

Just got the machine back, and there's a twist to the story! Opened the box to see a loose screw sitting on top of the foam padding - no idea where it goes, but it looks like a display screw. Pull the machine out, and see that two of the display's screw covers are missing (but screws are in their ho...

First, I am unable to find ANYTHING about LCD "MORA" through Googling... So I must have been extremely tired... So tired that I didn't even notice my own typo. Indeed it's "MURA" not "MORA"! I've changed my previous posts, and sorry for the confusion! Google returns about 5000 hits for "LCD MURA".

So, I have this sneaking suspicion that one of the shop guys reads this forum...if so, HI! Anyway, the techs ran a battery of tests...which as far as I can tell are photometric measurements across the display and using a series of color displays...looking for MURA, or LCD imperfections. Apparently m...

I'm having a similar problem - I've got ~35 small (<= 1mm) gray spots distributed about 2-inches on either side of where the trackpoint would be. There's no consistent pattern to suggest keyboard marks, etc. And they can't be removed by cleaning the screen, they really do appear to be *inside* the d...

I got the 9-cell a few months ago, and made it work with the zero-shock. I found the trick was to get the machine sl...

The machine fits inside fine, but it takes a bit of manuvering - won't slide right in.

Pretty good fit, but slightly loose on the sides.

In fact, that's the first thing I did!

There's another one on the cover LEDs.

Just flick the rounded (left) edge with your fingernail to see if anything loosens up on the surface, then you won't run the risk of scratching the thing even more.

But I'm not sure if he can match most of the Ohio educ. discounts. Worth a shot though...check the front page of the site for more info.

Would have prefered the same package in a 14" case, as I don't mind not having flexview, and will be toting it back and forth for years. But the DXU was $700 cheaper tha...

Depends...

I work at one university, and just enrolled at another. Their discount programs vary. When speccing systems (just bought a new T42), I found that I had to pick a particular model, then hunt down the best price. For instance, University A offers a small discount on all models - which is the generic e...
