Actually, no, I didn't get a T61p -- I didnt mean to write that. Mine is a T61 type 6465-CTO. I do have the media card reader on the front. I wasn't aware that the OP was referring to the 14" model. Sorry for the confusion.

I just got my T61p, and I have a cardbus slot, express card slot, and multi-card slot. The multi- slot is, at least in the 6465 type, a totally separate device that does not take up the cardbus or expresscard slots. I remember on my order status page, the multi- reader did not show up (since its an ...

The FSB speed and RAM bandwidth/speed are two different things. The FSB determines, to a degree, how fast the processor can communicate with memory... but there are other factors involved. Memory speed (effective) is also determined by the avaliable bandwidth/speed of the physical memory itself, and...

I know this question has been asked many many times, but I cant find a single time when the question has recieved a useful answer, so i am asking it again. As i said, the problem is probably with the power system in the thinkpad itself. Good luck on the repair/replace. Hopefully they will be able to fix the problem.

On another note, what are you going to do with those two extra batteries? :-) :-)

Absolutely NEVER "deep charge" a lithium battery. That will do far more harm than good. Also, only let the battery run down to a low level if you are going to store it. Otherwise, you will only reduce overall longevity. Lithium batteries like to be kept at a high level of charge when in use.

dont bother with a third battery, the problem is obviously with the power system itself. If the batteries are holding their charge, and charging when they are supposed to, the problem is most likely with the circuit that supplies power from the batteries. It is buried deep within the internals of th...

check your battery manager settings. To test to see if the battery actually works or not set the battery to begin charging at 50% and stop at 100% (not good for the battery, but it will see if the charging circuit is functional and if the battery can hold the charge). Let the battery charge for a fe...

FYI: The damage the case will almost inevitably sustain in the process of changing out your CPU will not void your warranty, but it will most certainly be bad.

My Thinkpad

I just recieved my thinkpad Z60m and i am, needless to say, very impressed. First of all, my thinkpad arrived a day earlier than expected. More importantly, from the moment i removed it from its box i was completely impressed by pretty much everything about it. My thinkpad's keyboard is, in my opini...

It is alledged to be "on track to ship at the end of the week", so if it does ship as expected i'd expect to recieve it sometime between saturday and tuesday (depending on how metaphysically good or bad shipping wants to be)

How would the performance on my thinkpad (1.86Ghz Pentium M 533Mhz FSB, 1GB DDR2, Intel GMA 900) fare against my PC (2.2Ghz Athlon XP 3200+ 400Mhz FSB, 1GB DDR, GeForce FX 5200)? I got a response from my rep yesterday. He says that my thinkpad is "On track to be shipped at the end of the week". Hopefully that means something. Palm 700p for all you Smartphone users

It is official, the 700p has finally been announced by Palm and will alledgedly be released on Sprint and Verizon networks "soon". Read up on its specs at http://www.palm.com . I, for one, am still waiting for Palm to release a new LifeDrive device. But there are no clear signs of that happening any...
