This is not what I meant. The desktop rotation feature is fine, but I want to prevent the wallpaper from rotating . That is, in landscape mode, my landscape wallpaper looks fine. When I rotate into portrait mode, the landscape is still landscape even in portrait mode, but now with black bars above a...

I bought a Waterfield sleeve with flap for my X61T. They look great and easily open and close with the nice fat velcro strap. The sleeve itself is fairly thick, providing protection.

X61T questions on RAM and SDHC card
I have an X61T tablet with Vista Business 32-bit. It currently has 1GB of RAM. Questions: 1. I'd like to use up to 4GB of RAM. I'm aware the BIOS is locked to 3GB and 32-bit Vista is limited to 3.5GB of RAM. But am I correct in assuming that the BIOS will eventually be unlocked by Lenovo and Vista 6...

How to prevent wallpaper from rotating on X61T?
When I rotate my X61T tablet from landscape to portrait mode, the wallpaper rotates too, resulting in a landscape wallpaper on the portrait-mode screen (with black bars above and below the wallpaper). Is there any way to prevent the wallpaper from rotating?

I've read elsewhere that Vista 32-bit will recognise 3.5 GB, not 3.0 GB; are you sure it's 3.0 GB? If I install a 2GB DIMM and a 1GB DIMM (both of the same speed and CAS levels), would that adversely affect my X61T's performance in any way (rather than 2 DIMMs of the same size)? since this is the t...

Bluebeam PDF Revu. Really good PDF program that also happens to work very well with the pen. (Far better than Adobe Acrobat IMHO.) That looks really nice. I've been looking for ways to annotate PDF files (underlining, highlighting, scribbling). Too bad PDF Revu costs so much ($149). Anyone know of ...

Vista 32-bit can only address 3GB of RAM, although Vista SP1 will let the 32-bit OS "recognize" the extra 1GB of RAM installed. GL I've read elsewhere that Vista 32-bit will recognise 3.5 GB, not 3.0 GB; are you sure it's 3.0 GB? If I install a 2GB DIMM and a 1GB DIMM (both of the same speed and CA...

I'v...

Re: Power adapter for Europe, esp. France?
I'm traveling to France in a few weeks with my X61T tablet. Can someone recommend a good power adapter, preferrably through Amazon.com? The standard Lenovo 65 watt adapter that came with your X61T should work fine in France; all you need is an adapter plug to convert to the local (standard western ...

What are your favourite applications for the X61T tablet?
Got my X61T a few months ago and love it. I have Office and OneNote. Can someone recommend some applications / utilities that really take advantage of the tablet feature, or would otherwise be very useful with the X61T?

Got my new X61T; some questions
I just got my X61T with 1400x1050 display. It is more awesome than I thought it would be. Some questions: 1. I have a stuck pixel, and it's fairly obvious. I want it fixed, but from previous experience I think Lenovo won't fix the screen unless I have 6 or something stuck pixels. I bought a 2-year e...

tablet pc: vista or XP?
I'm sure this is a frequently-asked question, but search couldn't find anything. I'm thinking of the X61T tablet. Should I get XP or Vista (and if the latter, which version)? Which works with the pen better? I only have a handful of apps I plan to run, in case that matters (browser, Office, and Phot...

Re: Some more questions about X61T
The Intel "Santa Rosa" reference motherboard design that ThinkPads use has a 800 MHz bus from Northbridge chip to CPU, but only a 667 MHz bus from Northbridge to RAM. The speeds do not need to match--this isn't the first time Intel had an FSB/memory speed mismatch, and I don't have a good reason to...

Re: Some more questions about X61T
I have a few more detailed questions about the X61 tablet. 0. I noticed the Lenovo RAM options are only for 667Mhz RAM. Can the x61T take advantage of 800Mhz RAM? e.g. No, the X61T only supports 800 MHz RAM. Also, ThinkPads can be picky so I recommend you get actual 667 MHz RAM rather than chancing...

Some questions about the X61t
1. When the X61t is in tablet mode, what physical controls are available other than the pen? I see that there is some kind of 4-way disc; are these exactly the equivalent of the 4 arrow keys on the keyboard (that is, will applications recognise them as the 4 arrow keys)? http://www.tabletpcreview.co...

Any rumours of a new tablet model?
Is there any news of a successor to the X61t? The Lenovo 25% holiday sale plus the 15% off e-coupon makes the baseline X61t model about $1250, which is awfully enticing. Too bad the sales end Dec 19. I would like to know what Apple has in store at their Jan 15 Macworld expo. There are some rumours A...

I'm looking to use an external drive as a scratch disk in Photoshop (as well as for extra storage space). Re: They wouldn't repair my stuck pixel
So now I'm going to return this thing or exchange it. I used an EPP price to buy it the first time, and that price has since gone up by $100. Hopefully I can get the same price in an exchange. Freaking idiots. You can expect prices to go up quite a bit more if everybody starts returning laptops for...
