Restarting Wifi on T20 after suspend to RAM
I have an IBM T20 Thinkpad with SUSE 10.1 with a ConnectGear W340G wireless card and the rt2500-1.1.0-b4 version of the wireless driver software. I'm running it with WPA, and it works, but doesn't restart automatically after a sleep. I have ACM, not ACPI, handling the suspend-to-RAM sleep. In order ...

OK: I have found a way to restart sound after the suspend-to-RAM sleep. (by the way, my system uses APM, not ACPII): sudo /etc/init.d/alsasound restart There must be a way to put this in a sleep restart script; I'll find it eventually. If anyone happens to know where this is, I'd appreciate a tip......

Thanks. Concerning suggestion 1): is the "sound module" the same as the driver, in this case snd-cs46xx? From the /etc/modprobe.d/sound file, I see that it is aliased to snd-card-0. I tried loading it with modprobe, and this is the result: modprobe -v --first-time snd-card-0 FATAL: Module snd_cs46xx...

Audio gone after F4 suspend and awaken
Greetings, I have a T20 running OpenSUSE 10.1, with a CS4614/22/24 [CrystalClear Sound Fusion Audio Accelerator] card (according to YaST). The driver is snd-cs46xx. I have noticed that upon sleep via Fn-F4 and awaken, some audio playback no longer works. Specifically, the RealPlayer and mplayer appl...

Wireless card for T20 running Linux (SUSE 10.1)
Can anyone recommend a wireless card for a T20 running Linux (OpenSUSE 10.1)? The ThinkWiki page on MiniPCI is helpful and gives a number of options, but none specifically for the T20, so I'm not sure if there are any specific issues for that model ThinkPad. So, at the risk of asking a FAQ, what can...

Here's an update to my "garish screen" problem. I know I hate it when I'm doing a search on a problem, and I find a post with my problem exactly and... no answers. Plus, it's dated a few years back; you know that's a bad sign. So I'll post an update here: my problem might be solved. The first thing ...

Well does anyone have any idea how to get my screen back the way it should be? It's stuck in a "Psychedelic Clown" scheme right now. Kind of flickers and shows "static". It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the distro; survives reboots, I powered off, pulled the power, and held the power butt...

T20 with garish, outsized screen display
Greetings, I installed Fedora Core 5 linux on a T20 which I had received free from my brother. It was missing a power supply and the disc had been wiped, so it was inoperable when I got it, but as far as I know, it worked OK except for a missing A/C adapter and battery. I got the adapter, installed ...
