T61 15.4" LCD quality
Hey, I'm about to purchase a 15.4" T61 with the WSXGA+ (1680x1050) screen. I've searched around but been unable to find out much about how the screen quality is (viewing angles, backlight bleed, etc.) on them. Anyone here have any first-hand experience they want to share?

You will not be able to make the CD's then. Someone along the way must have deleted the folder to free up space on the hard drive. Your best bet is to try and get a copy from someone else, or else order them from Lenovo. Someone went into the hidden partition and deleted just this? Seems kind of od...

New CMOS Battery
Where can I buy a new CMOS/backup battery for my T42? I found the FRU in this parts list (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-46474) but I could not find a place to purchase it on Lenovo's site. Where do you guys get yours?

Can't find place to create recovery disks...
I just obtained a used T42. I went ahead and restored it to the factory state (the whole hard drive) by pressing the Access IBM button at startup. However, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to create a set of recovery CDs. According to the Help file in Access IBM (and a thread I found her...

To the people who think that there should be a high percentage of 1400x1050 users in these numbers: First of all, this was not a survey. These were statistics gathered automatically as part of a software package installed on web sites/servers. Second of all, 1400x1050 is far, far from a common resol...

Academic return policy?
Does anyone know if the return policy for an academic purchase from Lenovo is the same as a non-academic one? i.e., do you still have the 30-day, no questions asked return policy?

Z61t availability?
Does anyone have any idea when this is going to show up on Lenovo's website? I noticed in a few threads here that it showed up briefly around the end of May. It's nearly the end of June now, and it still seems they're hard to find. Seems rather strange seeing as how they were announced earlier in Ma...

I find the Aero discussion intriguing. It seems that people are using "Aero-capable" as a basis for purchasing a laptop, yet when it comes time to install Vista I doubt that any laptop user will run Aero. We're talking about a 3D applicaiton that *requires* 128M vidram and a late-model GPU. There a...
