CCleaner 5.33.6162 hacked

FYI: https://www.howtogeek.com/326742/cclean ... d-to-know/

TL;DR: CCleaner 32-bit version 5.33.6162 or CCleaner Cloud 1.07.3191 collects and encrypts information that could be used to harm your system.

Re: Identifying the bios chip location on a X24

The Super I/O chip on the X24 motherboard appears to be a National Semiconductor PC87391. It's on the bottom labelled U241; "below" the memory slot and to the upper left of the docking port connector. Looking at the datasheet, it does not appear to have any EEPROM/flash memory that could be used to ...

I believe it makes a difference, but what kind of video controller do you have? NVIDIA or Intel? And are you trying to get three desktops; the T420 LCD, plus the two external monitors?

And if you do find that you have been running integrated graphics, then run a memory diagnostic program such as memtest86+. Since integrated graphics 'borrow' memory for display purposes from main memory, you could have a problem with bad module(s). You can download the diagnostic from here: http://...

Re: Thinkpad 560x keyboard schematic

I'll second that comment. I've seen a fair share of Thinkpad system schematics and they leave off the keyboard, display and inverter circuitry. Which makes sense as they only cover the motherboard. From my understanding, the keyboard is based on a 16 x 8 switch matrix which is then encoded into a se...

While I believe that it won't matter too much (beeps probably similar across all models), exactly which Thinkpad(s) does this query concern? The W520 here makes the same "deee dooop" sound when unplugging and plugging in the AC adapter. Don't know about the low battery sound as this one is fully cha...

I took a few shots from where I was during the event. Perfectly clear skies, if a little humid. :) Excellent images! Do you have exposure settings for those pictures? Initial plans for 2024 looks like Texas. Sun will almost be in the same position as I saw in Missouri (due south, 66 degrees above h...

Re: Mobile data as main source of internet questions

My understanding is that all AT&T consumer (home) DSL is A DSL; the "A" meaning asymmetrical. Which will always limit your upload speed to 384 to 640Kps no matter what your download speed is. Had AT&T DSL for many years before biting the bullet and switching over to Comcast cable. For my mobile data...

Total solar eclipse 2017 in US

Sorta at the last minute (little more than 1.5 months before the actual event), I decided to take a trip from San Jose to see the total solar eclipse that was going to arc across the continent on August 21. After some consideration, viewing the totality path, the easy accessibility (and cost) of air...

@Dancorp: I had a similar boot error code awhile back but on an X60. See here: /viewtopic.php?t=90116

TL;DR: Try removing all memory modules and put a different sized one in a single slot and see what happens. For your system, I believe you'll have to use Slot 0.

It's one of the built-in Windows tools that I've consistently used since 3.1. Assuming that you are trying to power up the system using the supplied keyboard, and further assuming that the keyboard is bad, then you could still have a good system. I would either swap in a known good keyboard (or put your T510i keyboard onto a known good system) OR attach the laptop to a port r...

Welcome to thinkpads.com! Intermittent/flickering backlight, aka CCFL, on a system as old as a T30, most likely is due to a bad bulb. If the wonky lighting is also accompanied by a pink/reddish tint, then definitely that's the answer. Although it is possible to swap out the backlight, I'd recommend ...

Re: "Surplus corporate stock" T510i bought as "dead" in MINT condition...

It's possible. It's also possible that the main fuse has burned out. It's also possible that the keyboard connector has been detached from the motherboard, thus preventing the power button to function. It's also possible that there's some major problem with the motherboard (blown out MOSFETs, for on...

The second (beige) optical must be quite old or unique to have an analog volume dial and headphone jack. I'd vote for quite old.
