The "one that works" with Win7 T40-T42 models with ATI 7500 or ATI 9000 graphics chips is "6.14.10.6606". Try this one : http://www.mediafire.com/?5tieomimroy#! The "Samsung MZ-7PD256BW" is a 2.5" SSD ... it won't fit in the Lycom adapter ... you need an "mSata" SSD.

I've had at least 2-3 crashes in just a few hours today with the 2010 driver. After creating a System Restore point, try installing and using IoBit's free 'Driver Booster' (http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/iobit_driver_booster.html). I'm using TPFC.62. I am surprised that no one has suggested turning off TPFC, or at least asked for your TPFC temperature settings. TPFC can be used for two things : - lowering temperatures by running the fan more often than the standard BIOS does (which then results in more fan noise) - lowering t...

The speeds seen in reviews are normally at Sata-3 speeds. Your T42 PATA speed is 133 ..... Sata-1 is 150, Sata-2 is 300, Sata-3 is 600. There's a big difference between Pata speeds and Sata-3 speeds.
