How thick is the gap between GPU & heatsink?

Does anyone know exactly how thick the gap is between the heatsink and the GPU on the T60? I removed the thermal pads that fill the gap and replaced them with thermal paste, but it didn't do much for temperatures so I'd like to place a copper or aluminum shim in there instead. I've read on here anyw...

Atheros A/B/G + Win 7 = very slow to connect to network

* I am running the RC, build 7100 of Windows 7. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with their T60 and the Atheros A/B/G wifi card with Windows 7. When I turn my computer on, it takes 4-5 minutes after the desktop is loaded for the machine to finally connect to the network (a network ...

Re: Anyone using the Hitachi 500gb 7k500? Will APS work?

Thanks guys, I understand that APS is not a HDD feature but a computer feature; I thought I had read on Lenovo's APS site a while ago that only compatible HDDs would work, but I don't see the same message on that page any longer.

Looks like a good buy and I'll hopefully be picking one up soon.

Re: Anyone using the Hitachi 500gb 7k500? Will APS work?

I found the following thread in case anyone else finds it useful: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=431402

Looks to be pretty fast and quiet.

Still unsure whether or not APS supports this drive, however.

Anyone using the Hitachi 500gb 7k500? Will APS work?

Wondering if anyone is using this Hitachi 500gb 7200rpm 2.5" drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145275 in their T60 and can comment on the speed/noise/etc, especially vs a stock Hitachi 80gb 5400rpm or 100gb 7200rpm drive. Also, it doesn't appear that this drive has any G...

I use the Northface Recon with a 14" T60 and 6 cell battery and it fits snugly. I don't think a 15" with 9 cell is going to fit in a backpack with that same size compartment. EDIT: and the Recon is small, so if you're looking around the bigger the better. I regret not getting a bigger pack, like the...

Yep just call and tell them. They'll send you a new one with a box to send back your old one. You have 30 days to return your old one, or else they'll charge you for the replacement.

MSDN is a subscription service you pay $xxx for (I don't know how much) per month. So it's not like the RTM version was just put out there for free like RC2, you have to be a paying member to get it.

My ultrabay battery did that. It was only a month old so I told Lenovo and they sent me a replacement, no hassle. Then the replacement did the same thing after only two weeks. Now the whole T60 has been at EZserve since Nov 29, they wanted to "diagnose" that problem, and I had some monitor issues an...

make sure you're using the latest R&R. If you have recovery CDs from the old version, it won't be on those CDs, and if you recover from those CDs then your hard drive will have that old version too.

Badger, is yours the 14" screen or do you have some magic trick to get it that low wattage with the wireless on? Yes, mine is the 14" screen. There's no DVD drive either, I pretty much always have the UltraBay battery in. My touchpad is also disabled because I never use it. Right now I'm in Vista (...

I'd like to know what the problems we're talking about with 2.01 are too. I used 2.01 for a while but switched back to the Vista 2.00b because I felt the fan noise was increased in 2.01.

But roasting things?

Vista went retro black and white on me, even w/ new driver

Sooo, one day I booted up and Vista was black and white. No color, just like a black and white television. Kinda cool. I usually use XP anyway, and a couple of days later when I went back to Vista I got a BSOD just after logging in, restarted, logged into Vista and another BSOD. So I left Vista alon...

the 2.00b bios is the Vista bios, which you can find a link to in a sticky in the "Vista OS" forum. I know this because I have it installed right now  XP runs fine with it, too.
