thanks for your reply. That's exactly how everything is set-up. I also knew about the "first boot password" and so far I have swiped both fingers like 100 times and it's still asking me for the password.

Maybe I should re-install everything and try it again.

Fingerprint power-on on T61

I'm experiencing some strange behavior with the power-on password on my T61. Everything is updated and I'm running the latest fingerprint software. Two fingerprints are authorized to replace the power-on password. Here comes the problem now. When I start my system the regular fingerprint power-on me...

Battery Compatibility for T61

I was just wondering whether somebody knows if the 6 cell or 9 cell battery for the Z series works also for the T61. As far as I know they should work with the T60 but I'm not sure if that's also the case for the T61. Thanks in advance.

I use VLC Player and Power DVD. VLC has also some setting where it's possible to improve the sound (even more that Power DVD and it's actually pretty loud on my Z60m) and the best thing is that it comes for free. Overall the speaker quality is not really that good especially when you think about the...

I had exactly the same experience quite some time ago. Dropped connections every 5 minutes, no connection at all (even right in front of the AP). All this was resolved when I changed the Intel card with the IBM Atheros one. Since then I always had and have a rock solid connection. Quite a frustratin...

I've never tried VLC without DVD Region Killer but maybe I should give it a try. PowerDVD and probably other fancier media player definitely don't work without any additional software. In my opinion this entire process is absolutely absurd. I have a lot of European DVD which I bought some time ago a...

Check your CPU temperature with Mobile Meter or so. The Z series is known for some overheating problems which results in random shutdowns. I had the same with another laptop some time ago and it killed one HD. I have my Z60m now under control with NHC and some Arctic Silver thermal paste on the heat...

I absolutely love my Z60m. However, there are a few negative things about it: - laptop is more on the heavier side (which doesn't bother me so much) - problems with overheating (can be controlled with NHC and Arctic Silver 5) - recent battery recall (at least mine was one of it) Otherwise it's a ver...

sounds like it's due to overheating, mine gets really warm too from time to time. You can check the CPU temperature with a small program called Mobile Meter at http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Oakland/8259/ If that's really the case you might want to slow down the processor a little bit with...

Another option would be to increase the signal output of your router by downloading a third-party firmware, assumed you have a Linksys router (at least that's the only one I know of where it works).

I've never experienced any major trouble with FF 1.5 and I upgraded to the new 2.0 version when it came out. So far it works pretty well, except some of my old extensions don't work anymore.

There is an extension for scripts for FF, maybe you have that installed and it's causing the trouble.
