If this was the case, how could I tell by popping off the LCD bezel? Thanks :)

Questions/Suggestions on T60p LCD Problems

Hi All, Recently my T60p LCD (the IPS+ UXGA model) has been having problems. It is now to the point that only the top quarter of the display works, and the rest is pretty much dead. If I open the screen all the way up and quickly close it I can basically get the bottom 3/4s to refresh whatever it sh...

Re: RAID 5 possible on W700 with 3 HDDs?

I thought it´s an actual hardware RAID... I have never tried this, but theoretically I can set up software RAID even on a T60 using the ultrabay... (though the difference will be certainly noticeable due to the absence of a dedicated controller). Thats what I was saying (to get around the ultrabay ...

Re: RAID 5 possible on W700 with 3 HDDs?

I had tried RAID0 with one of the internal bays combined with an identical drive in the Ultrabay, and the integrated Intel RAID controller on the W700 wouldn't let me, saying something to the effect that one of the bays is external. So I would guess that RAID5 also wouldn't not be allowed. But that...

Re: W700 series vs T60P/61p

This thread makes me so sad. Ive been looking into getting the W500 with the WUXGA, and from reports here the its even worse than the W700's? (In terms of brightness). Thankfully my T60p's LCD just got replaced after a deflective backlight, so it should be good for a few more years. Not having a goo...

T60p backlight very tempermental-Ideas/Options?

My T60p backlight has been very wierd recently. When I close the lid of the machine and open it again, the backlight does not come on the vast majority of the time (this does not appear at all to be a software thing, hibernating/restarting doesnt change anything). It started happening occasionally, ...

I have it installed but it doesn't seem to work. this should probably be in the linux forum, but yes I have gotten drivers working. Which ones are you using? I would assume you were using fglrx . http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Installation_Guide has guides for installing fglrx on recent ve...

almost all computers will do this as a result of paging, that is using parts of your hard drive as slow access ram. You can disable pagefileing in settings, but make sure you have enough ram

I have the ultrabay with my 15" t60p and I normally also get 6.5hrs (no wireless, everything min) on just the 9cell, and I get 8hrs on the ultrabay which is consistent with its 33% capacity of the 9 cell. Dust in lcd?

Ive had my t60p for about 2 months now, and today I noticed a small dark splotch near the bottom. I am relatively confident that these aren't just dead pixels-when the screen in black, this area is noticeably darker, which would seem to indicate that dust has gotten inside the lcd in front of the ba...
