Can't you just create Recovery CDs? I did when I got my machine before I removed the hidden recovery partition.

I have the same problem. I thought it was me. Does anyone have the old wireless driver we could download? I read a thread a while back about this and someone suggested installing the Sebring API from the WLANCX2A/APPS/API folder, but it isn't there anymore.

Using a T40 with a projector on VGA, when shown, any video through WinDVD (and others I believe) is showing as a black box. There is sound and the rest of windows is shown, but no video.

It's using Presentation Director for settings, etc. and whatever the newest IBM driver is.

ANy ideas?

So I got another VGA cable (Dell, but it is thicker, so I'm assuming shielded more); however, it's still doing the ghosting problem. Will DVI get rid of this, or is this the LCD or my computer?

I'm using VGA, so I'll try to borrow a different VGA cable and see if that fixes it. As for DVI, I dont have a docking station yet, so I'm stuck with the VGA connection until I can buy one. Will simply replacing the cable fix this ghosting problem? I'm having the same issue, but not sure where to find a good cable.

I haven't tried rotating it to portrait yet, mostly because I haven't had time to sit and screw with the drivers. I'm using VGA right now, because I haven't gotten a dock yet for my T42. I'm starting to notice a slight ghost that sits to the right of everything that I remember from another post, but...

Not sure, but it's great. Found out that it needed the modded ATI driver first, and then to get Presentation Director to work at 1680x1050, I had to set up the new profile while using the monitor, wouldn't allow that resolution when on the laptop's LCD.

Once this is done, can you use the IBM Presentation Director?

Does anyone know how to change the resolution on the Thinkpad through presentation director to 1680x1050? It's not one of the available resolutions (through VGA).

It would only be used when the Thinkpad wasn't running it's own LCD. That was my question about video memory. I also didn't know if would handle the random resolution.

I'm just wondering how well the Thinkpad would swing a monitor at a resolution that high? Anyone have one (or a 2001FP?) I think it runs at 1680 x 1050. It will be via DVI through a Port Replicator.

wrong problem

I installed SP2 and have a question for anyone else. Did anyone else's computer stop showing the Professional logo on the Windows loading screen (with the progress bar on the bottom). As soon as I get into Windows, everything still says it, but not loading.

So weird.
