Short answer: NO Long answer: its bloated, confusing, slow compared to XP, consumes to much battery power, impossible to find things in(over complicated), [censored] driver support for thinkpads, and you gotta pay for it. XP for me, until they refine it somemore. You shouldnt tac on too many feature...

readyboost is a waste of time, marketed solely to people who dont know anything about computers. it is slow, and is a waste of flash memory. Flash memory also has a read/write limit, and using flash as readyboost continually will kill it eventually. Did I mention its slow? oh yea, flash any way you ...

My X60s with vista gets about 4 hours of battery life, with or without aeroglass. On XP the computer gets close to 8. Yesterday I had jury duty and with xp I watched 2 movies and browsed the net the whole time I was there and when I left I still had power left. Vista is also slow as hell compared to...

Well this 1.11 bios was probably pulled becaue it leaves issues unhandled. Example. my laptop does not continue chargin the battery after returning from standby or hibernation. I have 1.11 and I cannot reproduce that problem. But indeed it's disconcerting to be running 1.11 and have seen it withdra...

I'm seeing really good wattages after a cold boot...but if I resume from standby or hibernation, I get high idle wattages similar to previous power hungry BIOS's. Anyone with similar experiences? First question: how are you guys determining the wattage consumption of the processor. As for your issu...

Screen flex
Do all of your X60's have screen flex? If the screen is open 90 degrees and you hold it by the top corners and flex it does it have a lot of play in it? Also I noticed that when the notebook is closed it doesnt close completely. There is about a 1mm or so gap on each side of the machine. So when you...

All the memory is user-accessible/ubgradable. There are 2 slots under the removable panel on the bottom. I think that is one of the best qualities of the X60 line. So many companies either solder the ram to the board(for a saving of what 10 cents and about 2mm of space by not using a socket) or sho...

Therefore we do not recommend installing unless it is used to try and troubleshoot any...

You need something like this: http://i3.ebayimg.com/04/i/05/e4/12/bd_2.JPG I bought one in Chinatown for 50 cents, used it in Europe and my ThinkPad was not damaged. Exactly what I was saying. When I was in barcelona, I stayed at a hotel that provided those things to their guest for free. It was co...
