Yes the drive is loose on all of them i remember ,plamrest making sounds ,screen had spots, one looked really dirty out of the box This is the normal T510...

That's normal unfortunately, we have 5 new T510's at the office and all have the same problems you mentioned i remember one of them having spots on the LCD just out of box! these new cheap black PC's look like a ThinkPad but in reality they are not...

L series screen can take more pressure on the back of the lid while the new T series screen flexes while opening and closing the lid...

Other than being more plasticy than your T41P the T410s is currently the best 14 inch ThinkPad on the market...

Both will work ok but i don't know if in the same time...

I used the bay-battery for almost 2 years on my X301 and no problems and the battery still reports to be in good condition and i loose like an hour at least when i remove it! so my advice just charge and don't worry!

I have a T500 and the Keyboard is hell it self! just throw it away and get a T61 keyboard like i did and you'll be back in business...

My T500 does it in 7 never in XP however i noticed that it only happens during the login screen which is still annoying but when windows starts the touchpad gets disabled again...

Good to hear that your problem was solved, however i think customer should get an Excellent ThinkPad from the first time just like IBM days and i don't care what people say about IBM i never had a problem with them but unfortunately i had many problems with my Lenovo ones

Fake Thinkpads aren't as good as the original IBM"s but there still better than HP & DELL

For the useful information i bought a T500 few days ago because all T510 owners indicated that screen protection is insufficient and won't survive carrying it around sleeveless!

I think its normal in every Thinkpad its the DVD drive i think.... please remove it and check.
