Re: Thinkpad T60 15" measured (not advertised) weight

Can anyone tell me what is the actual measured (not advertised) weight of a T60 15" Flexview. Here are the measurements from my T60 15" Flexview (accuracy 0.005 lb): Model: 2007-72U Advertised weight: 2.65 kg (5.84 lbs) Measured weight: 2.708 kg (5.970 lbs) - with optical drive, 6 cell, and without...

My fan seems to be off more now than it was originally, supposedly after the bios update to 2.01. When it is on, it is around 3050rpm but it is not noisy at all. I rarely notice it, but then I don't work in a dead quiet room either. It is noticeably quieter compared to my desktop.

Thank you Gator! I don't normally like dark themes but this one has definitely grown on me. This theme, along with the blue/black IBM-Circuit wallpaper and Phoenity Modern Firefox theme are working nicely together.

The "atheros card"...is this another brand? Does it have a good rep with the ThinkPads? Is this an internal card to swap out for the Intel or a PC Card? Thanks for your thoughts. Try unistalling Nero and see how it works. Or at least try unistalling INCD. IBM's counterpart program DLA sometimes causes problems too, although I haven't had a problem with it. But then again, although it is installed, I choose not to have the optical drive use it. Thanks Gomjabber, I finally ha...

Re: More Fn-F5 problems

bwd, I suspect that you have the same problem as the one my Company has had with several of its staff's T42 notebooks. Hi Nick: thank you very much for the info. I wish you were around a month ago and then I could have tried this out. In the meantime I've replaced my Intel wifi card with the IBM ca...

Did you try using an empty password? Go into Bios, hit the HD password line, type in the old password and then hit enter for the next two lines (the new password typed in twice). That worked for me, but I have to abmit that it wasn't obvious at first.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. It is indeed weird. I checked for the Intel Manager, chipset driver and Windows updates and they are all ok. I then put the 5400rpm drive back in the laptop and restored an image I had saved after I did a factory restore and with only a few applications installed...

Well I think there is something wrong with my laptop. I bought a USB enclosure for the hard drive and when I plug it in the Found New Hardware message pops up and it can't find the proper driver to install (it should find system32\drivers\usbstor.sys). It works fine on my desktop and on an Asus lapt...

Thank you for the help wallybear. I did as you suggested (I think): 1. SATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter Problems

I'm trying to use a Hitachi 5400rpm drive (HTS541010G9SA00) with the SATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter (40Y8725) in my T60. I formatted the drive and got rid of the IBM partition (it was the original drive that came with my T60). Now, whenever I boot up with the adapter inserted windows pops up the Found ...

I just read the following in the thread below: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=23831&start=60 Could it be the ACPI Power management driver is the missing piece of the puzzle? Hi Matt:

Thank you for the suggestion but unfortunately it didn't work. I have almost given up on it for now. Wireless works well under Windows, but I do miss AC and the Fn-F5 functionality. I ordered the IBM 802.1 a/b/g (40Y7026) so I'm hoping that works better for me.
thanks again,

More Fn-F5 problems

I know this has been discussed numerous times in the past, but I'm hoping someone can help since I have been unable to fix it and it is really frustrating. A week ago on my brand new T60 (200772U with 3945abg), without knowing any better, I did a system update and it updated my Intel driver to 10.1....
