Re: Thinkpad T60 15" measured (not advertised) weight
Can anyone tell me what is the actual measured (not advertised) weight of a T60 15" Flexview. Here are the measurements from my T60 15" Flexview (accuracy 0.005 lb): Model: 2007-72U Advertised weight: 2.65 kg (5.84 lbs) Measured weight: 2.708 kg (5.970 lbs) - with optical drive, 6 cell, and without...

Thanks
Thank you Gator! I don't normally like dark themes but this one has definitely grown on me. This theme, along with the blue/black IBM-Circuit wallpaper and Phoenity Modern Firefox theme are working nicely together.
thanks

The "atheros card"...is this another brand? Does it have a good rep with the ThinkPads? Is this an internal card to swap out for the Intel or a PC Card? Thanks for your thoughts. The atheros card is the IBM TP card: Part Number: 40Y7026 TP 11A/B/G LAN MINIPCI EXPADA I swapped out my Intel card for ...

Try unistalling Nero and see how it works. Or at least try unistalling INCD. IBM's counterpart program DLA sometimes causes problems too, although I haven't had a problem with it. But then again, although it is installed, I choose not to have the optical drive use it. Thanks Gomjabber, I finally ha...

Re: More Fn-F5 problems
bwd, I suspect that you have the same problem as the one my Company has had with several of its staff's T42 notebooks. Hi Nick: thank you very much for the info. I wish you were around a month ago and then I could have tried this out. In the meantime I've replaced my Intel wifi card with the IBM ca...

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. It is indeed weird. I checked for the Intel Manager, chipset driver and Windows updates and they are all ok. I then put the 5400rpm drive back in the laptop and restored an image I had saved after I did a factory restore and with only a few applications installed...

Well I think there is something wrong with my laptop. I bought a USB enclosure for the hard drive and when I plug it in the Found New Hardware message pops up and it can't find the proper driver to install (it should find system32\drivers\usbstor.sys). It works fine on my desktop and on an Asus lapt...

Thank you for the help wallybear. I did as you suggested (I think): 1. Using Disk Management I deleted the partition, selected new partition, then formatted as 1 primary partition, then Windows popped up "found new hardware, searching for drivers - your hardware is installed and ready to use". It re...

SATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter Problems
I'm trying to use a Hitachi 5400rpm drive (HTS541010G9SA00) with the SATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter (40Y8725) in my T60. I formatted the drive and got rid of the IBM partition (it was the original drive that came with my T60). Now, whenever I boot up with the adapter inserted windows pops up the Found ...

Sounds like something went wrong with the installation of the driver for some reason....Maybe a Windows reinstall is the easiest and fastest way to solve the problem. Thanks again Wiz. Re: SOLUTION
Did you uninstall the Intel software before you installed the IBM a/b/g adapter? Hi Wiz: good questions. I was super paranoid so I uninstalled all of the intel software, power manager and the hotkey drivers. I installed the new card then installed the power manager, hotkey and the new IBM adapter d...

Hi Sean: I just bought a Synology NAS DS-101 . I'm very happy with it so far - no problems, it is easy to use and set up, and has a lot of extra features (print server, email alerts, usb support). It also has logging and hibernate modes. The price was $110 cdn without the hard drive. I put a 320GB w...

Re: SOLUTION
Hi wuyuren - I did try renaming all instances of libeay32.dll to libeay32.dll.bak (except the intel one) and I also tried copying the version from C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin to c:\windows as you suggested (see post #2 and 3 above). I also tried the uninstall/install approach of the power ma...

I just read the following in the thread below: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=23831&start=60 Could it be the ACPI Power management driver is the missing piece of the puzzle? Alternatively, you may have a bad Intel 3945 card. Have you tried running PC-Doctor? I did try the ACPI/hotkey su...

I'm not sure if this will help, but you could try opening up a DOS window and typing: ipconfig /flushdns I've had this happen once before and I could access one website. Turns out it somehow got a bad DNS entry and the flushdns cleared it up. It's hard to believe it would happen on 2 computers thoug...

I have the Thinkpad Wireless card and I have the same problem. That is disappointing. I was hoping it was a problem with the Intel software and AC. I will find out when my new wireless card arrives in a week or so. I'm unhappy with the signal strength on the 3945 anyway, so hopefully the IBM card i...

Thanks
Hi Matt:
Thank you for the suggestion but unfortunately it didn't work. I have almost given up on it for now. Wireless works well under Windows, but I do miss AC and the Fn-F5 functionality. I ordered the IBM 802.1 a/b/g (40Y7026) so I'm hoping that works better for me.
thanks again,
dave

More Fn-F5 problems
I know this has been discussed numerous times in the past, but I'm hoping someone can help since I have been unable to fix it and it is really frustrating. A week ago on my brand new T60 (200772U with 3945abg), without knowing any better, I did a system update and it updated my Intel driver to 10.1....
