Can you read any info off of your currently installed memory chip(s)? Ok, one has an fru of "42h2819 The other says "KTM-TP770/64-CE" "2027-005.ADO" I had a bit of a scare. I took them out to see if I there was anything on the other side and when I put them back they both registered but only one wa...

customer loyalty
hey all, My first laptop was a thinkpad, when I was in highschool and it was a pretty old one then, but I loved it. Then just recently whenI was looking for another laptop, I got a thinkpad again. And I cant see using any other laptop. Why do you think thinkpads create such instant customer loyalty?...

beeps ok
I should add that I get all the beeps from the speakers and such, so I know they work and if I plug in the headphones, I get the beeps there too. Are these sound generated somewhere other than the sound from inside windows, like the bios maybe. If not and they are generated by the sound card, why wo...

Re: 256 memory and mmc-2 mod.
Hey Chris. Just sent email with info from bammbamm@ptd.net incase you are filtering. Did it come through yeah I got it, thanks for the link. that will be very helpful when I upgrade. fyi, if you remove the search frame the url is just http://www.katch.dsl.pipex.com/mtb/mods.htm not quite as long :)

Re: 256 memory and mmc-2 mod.
Fran, Nope no model number that I can see just the crucial produt number which is proprietary I believe. please do send me the link. Ndogg, I actually have a magidvd card that came with my TP. I just upgraded my 600e with two 256 pc100 modules that I purchased from www.kahlon.com . I currently have the max 544Mb ram and a snappy 60GB 7200rpm HDD (from Brent) and I could not be happier. Thanks richard that helps a lot. Just out of curiosity do you have dvd on your 600e? and if so, how wel...

usb sound
I had mentioned my sound issue in the dsp post but I pretty much figured out the dsp problem so I figured I'd ask the sound question in a different post. I found a usb "soundcard" on ebay and I wonder if I could get some thoughts on it. it's pretty cheap so if it didnt work it would be a cheap lesso...

You have to be careful with the ram. The 256mb sticks have to be Low Density PC100. Low density sticks have 16 chips, 8 on each side...whereas regular or high density have 8 total. I went to crucial to check what kinda ram I should use and they it said: SDRAM, PC133 • CL=2 • Non-parity • 133MHz • 3...

I have a TP600e and I cant get sound. I went through all the audio checks listed on lunovo and when I ran the test for dsp in the setup(F1) it didnt pass. what does that mean. also where it says audio in the test screen its grayed out like I dont have it. any help is much appreciated.
