ebags sleeve + 9 cell battery

That should be fine. The extra space is at the front/rear of the T42 and I assume the 9 cell adds the 3/4" at the rear on the machine. The bag also allow 1.5" thickness and the T42 is on 1.0" so there's room for a few papers/manuals/whatever.

ebags sleeve

I picked up an inexpensive sleeve at ebags:

It's a slightly larger than my 14" T42 but I'm happy for $18.

Easy install

I got SP2 from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=049c9dbe-3b8e-4f30-8245-9e368d3cdb5a&displaylang=en (about 270MB) and it installed on my T42 in about 25 minutes with no problems. This is the original IBM install with all their "extras". Looks good so far. The IBM Updater wor...

Removing XP, Centrino labels

I just got a new T42 2378-DUU...quite a nice upgrade from my old i-Series. I find the metallic Intel Centrino and Designed for XP labels distracting. On previous systems they peeled off easily but this seem to attached permanently. I'd like them off but don't want to damage the keyboard palm rest. H...
