Re: X201t - Upgarding hard drive - advice, please (inc. on hybrids)
Well, I need at least 250gb, but I'd like more depending on the cost. I haven't even looked into them enough to know what's available.

What do I need to know about SSDs to choose the right one? Any recommendations on where to get the best price?ajkula66 wrote:Unless you really need 1TB space, go with the SSD. As for 7K1000, any of them will work just fine.

Re: X201t - Upgarding hard drive - advice, please (inc. on hybrids)
I've been looking at a hard drive upgrade for an X200 and I'm seeing SATA II and SATA III models.
What's the difference, and are there any issues with compatibility?
I'm looking at a Hitachi 7K1000, but there still seems to be various choices. How do you select from there?
Thanks,

Re: X200 Recovery with X220 discs?
Yes. You'll be missing a few drivers but it should work well enough to get you to the point of sorting these out. Thanks for the info. I went ahead and restored it last night and it actually came out perfect! Nothing missing, so far as I can tell. It might be one of the easiest, cleanest restores I...

Can I recover an X200 with X220 recovery discs?
Secondarily, can I take a hard drive out of a working X220 and swap it into an X200, or will there be issues?

Re: X60 - XP Standby issues...
Apparently, nobody had any idea what the issue was here, but I accidentally solved it myself, although it's still something of a mystery. My keyboard had a couple "sticky" keys; they were fully functional, just annoying, so I decided to get a new keyboard for it. Got a beautiful new keyboard from 'T...

X60 - XP Standby issues...
I have a new-to-me X60 with a freshly loaded XP-Pro OS. I'm having an issue with it going into standby. It's set up to go into standby whenever the lid is closed, but rarely does it actually complete the action. It also will not go into standby when prompted, via Fn + F4. Sometimes it will, but most...

LF: working X3 Ultrabase, condition not important...
I need a working X3 ultrabase. It doesn't need to be in great shape, so long as it works.
I don't need a drive for it, but the drive slot must be working.
If you happen to have them and could combine shipping, I could also use one or two
OEM 16v/4.5a AC adapters, in good condition.

Is there a reference somewhere that shows which Thinkpads use the same CMOS battery? Browsing eBay would lead one to believe that the same battery fits many models, but others are listed with more narrow application lists. Hard to know what's accurate. I have a number of Thinkpads that will probably...

Re: X32 Startup Issues...
Thanks for the assistance. I'm curious as to why the 1802 hack is needed at this point. I've never done it before. Was it already on the system when I got it and just needs to be redone now because the CMOS battery died, or seemed to for awhile? Does it need the hack because it has a different wirel...

I have an X32 that was working fine until recently. T42/xp - hangs on startup - SOS =|
So the other day, my trusty T42 suddenly refuses to startup. It seems to power on normally, lights flash appropriately, fan comes on, hard drive spins up, intel/centrino screen comes up, then the screen goes blank and the hard drive indicator light stops it's typical flashing and that's it, nothing ...

I'm looking for either a loaded X31/X32, or a basic X60. Must be in nice condition, with Ultrabase, and have at least 60-80gb hard drive.
Not interested in any X4x models. I also need a fan for a T42.
PM with offers,
Thanks

I recently restored my T42 with a new hard drive. I've been restoring data from the previous hard drive, via the 2nd HDD adapter. I've done this numerous times over the years without any trouble. I'm looking for a large PATA hard drive for my T42. Probably around 160gb, at least. Would prefer new, but might consider slightly used, depending on the price.
