Re: X250 Going from i3 to i5 or i7

I have an X250 with i5-5300U, FHD-touch, 8GB RAM and W7-Pro. Runs fine with anything I throw at it. i5 will definitely see a major improvement over an i3. But I doubt that i7 will bring much advantage over an i5 on these machines. From the CPU options, avoid the i5-4300U (old HD 4400 GPU and max 8GB...

You're not trying to enter that UUID yourself, are you?

If the HMD does not work, try this: https://support.lenovo.com/in/en/soluti ... entre-m70e
(but use the T450 BIOS!)

Re: 380XD Trouble, Need Some Help.

Those CMOS all have the same voltage. Remove your current CMOS. The CR2330 has diameter 23 mm, height 3mm. Then get a CR2025 (dia. 20, h 2.5) or CR2032 (dia. 20, h 3.2), whichever is available. Then cut away the plastic around the old CMOS and tear off the soldered contacts. Make sure to not damage ...

Re: need help finding a part number

Only problem is, the M73 Tiny does not have any 'internal' HDMI port, it's too 'old' for that.
(M700/M900 have such a HDMI port option).
The 'optional connector' above the VGA-port on the rear is only for another USB2.0 or Serial port.
The only option is the DP to HDMI adapter 03T7001.

Which driver (name of the .exe) with what version are you trying to install?

Re: Peculiar Issue with T61p CPU Upgrade (X9000)

Did you properly upgrade to Middleton before you swapped CPU? Properly installed means: Lenovo BIOS 2.29 first, then M's BIOS, both with the 'old' CPU still in? Put the old CPU in, then check the SATA-speed of your HDD/SSD. If it is ~3Gb/s you're good, but if ~1.5Gb/s it did not upgrade and the X900...

Re: T440P - Updating BIOS

I have BIOS 2.53/1.12 on my T440p, it was the last one with anything [new] useful in it. The others have only 'security' updates, which I personally don't trust. Download the bootable iso and use e.g. ImgBurn to put it onto a CD. You'll need a working battery to do so. https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/u...

If you know the HDD password, you can remove it in the BIOS.
If not, the only way to get rid of it is by replacing the HDD.

Re: Is it possible to temporarily disable the fingerprint login procedure?

Check BIOS/Security/Password settings.
You either have a Power-On-Password (POP) or Supervisor Password (SVP).
If only POP, switch off, remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes, reconnect, reboot, POP is gone.
If SVP, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5z0HdLqgR_I

Re: Random Problem (maybe Track Pad/Point related maybe)

How about using a different HDD/SSD?
To me it sounds like you have either some virus or a bad piece of common software (Grub?) on the drive somewhere.
What tabs do suddenly open, are they from your bookmarks, or randomly picked?

Re: Wobbly ultranav buttons on classic (T410/20) keyboard

T410 and T420 (and T430 after mod) can use the same keyboards. BUT, there are 3 manufacturers and KBs are listed in 3 columns in the HMM manual: left Alps , mid Chicony , right NMB . NMB = red pads ALPS = white pads Chicony = grey pads (what you have) Most people consider NMB the best, followed by A...

Re: Install Wireless LAN Adapter PartNo. 04X6011 on T430u

That T430U has a BIOS-whitelist with approved wifi-cards.
That 04X6011 is not on that list, so won't work unless you can find a BIOS with that whitelist removed.
