Re: T60 2623D3U Black Screen

No need.
If you like the T2500 CPU better than T2400, you can easily swap them.
Or upgrade to Core2Duo T7200/T7400/T7600 CPU, which allows 64-bit OS.
Get the T60 manual from the HMM link above.

Re: No CMOS battery !

You must have misunderstood!
The motherboard was only linked so you could see where the mbattery goes.
The second eBay-link was from a shop in Paris, that sells the CMOS battery you need.
Actually it's the same eBay-seller/shop that you linked!

Re: No CMOS battery !

Welcome to the Forum. It is missing. The X1C3 has a CR1632 CMOS battery with black plastic cover, it plugs into the black connector top-left. See the last picture here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/132423093198 But AFAIK any other (yellow) CR1632 CMOS battery will also fit (the usual CR2032 is probably ...

And you even can drop the temperature a few more degrees, if you also replace the (standard) wifi card with a half-card size Intel 6200N/6300N (2/3 antenna wires). You'll need a half-size bracket, like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/271542007656 But if you are handy with scissors, you can also make ...

Re: Reccomendations for a new laptop - T430, worth in 2018?

If you go for the T440P, that still has 2 DIM-slots and a replaceable CPU.
It is available with HD, HD+ and FHD.
You only need to replace its lousy clunkpad with a proper touchpad+buttons from e.g. a T450, see this: https://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.p ... 12#p817112

The bigger problem is the supply of old laptops on ebay seems to have dried up compared to 5 years ago.
From your signature it looks like you are missing a few.
I can help you with some that are getting rare:

Your machine has a crappy clunkpad and should be replaced with a proper SYNAPTICS touchpad+buttons from a T450, such as this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/162912148567
Do NOT buy a crappy ALPS one that looks like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/263599461742
(compare their backs to see the difference)

Re: ThinkPad t430 hard drive size confusion - customer support anger

Take both HDs/SSDs out and post their brand and model numbers (unless the size is printed on the label). Then we can check their size and if they are HD or SSD. Most manufacturers also give you a white lie about size: - 120GB is effectively 117gb - 250GB - 244gb - 500GB - 488GB If you lose space, yo...

Re: ThinkPad t430 hard drive size confusion - customer support anger

Your ranting still makes no sense. A CMOS battery will not and cannot stop a HD or SSD from booting. If a CMOS is failing, it will tell you so by asking for Date/Time. After entering that info, or clicking Esc to bypass, it will continue booting. But if your HD or SSD is hosed, or you have problems ...

Re: LF: T43 "MODs": SATA/MB & UXGA/Display ...

For the T6x/R6x LED-mod just changing the inverter is not enough. It also requires a separate 14-pin connector. The LCD-cable pinout is also 180 degrees reversed. The whole lot can also be solved by re-soldering ~44 points on the back of the LED-LCD. Good luck with that! I did the (experimental) LED...
