Re: My experience with IPS panels, from T60 through x220/230 until the T460

I wonder what junkyard you buy your screens from... I have bought several LP125WH2-SLT1 for use in X220 and X230, all came (used) from the Lenovo S230 Twist non-touch, and were (and still are) perfect. I have also bought two FHD screens, one LP125WF2-SPB4 (for my X230, on which I am writing this pos...

Re: Flash the modded BIOS? T40

You cannot just copy a file onto a CD.
You need a program from e.g. http://www.imgburn.com/
Unpack the .iso from that .rar, then use Imgburn to make the CD from that .iso.
Remove the error-giving wifi-card before you flash.

Re: Troubleshooting: Keyboard stopped working and Windows won't boot past loading screen?

The magnet sits under the palmrest, near the front, left of the bottom-mouse-keys-opening.
See second picture, the silver square with a cross on it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/172884832333
The sensor is inside the lid, near the webcam, matching/opposite of that magnet.

Do NOT buy any 00HM111, they have awful ghosting problems.
Instead look for the 00HM745 as used in X250 and X260, buy from a reliable seller (not in China) and have them confirm it's a genuine screen!

Just looking at pictures of both, I'd say no. The screwhole locations are different. Has your machine iGPU or dGPU? Your best bet is a "double-pipe" T420 fan (04W0407-iGPU or 04W0408-dGPU) and use the best thermal paste (Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut). Then see this: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/com...

Re: [Solved] X230 boots into W7, but cannot get into BIOS

Fast Boot is not available in W7, so my machine couldn't have that problem.
Fast Boot only applies to W8 and W10 (which I don't use).

If you apply the EC firmware-mod to the X230T to bypass Lenovo's battery-check, that battery will also work in an X230T.

Re: X230 boots into W7, but cannot get into BIOS

Like I said above, I have only my laptop, nothing else. So I decided to hunt around in the FHD thread where I hoped to find a hint. Sure enough I found my own (!) post from almost a year ago , where I asked which option to use in the BIOS LCD-setting. nitrocaster 's reply: FHD display corresponds to...

[Solved] X230 boots into W7, but cannot get into BIOS

My X230 has concocted some strange problems in the last few days. Since 2 days it boots without showing the "ThinkPad" splash screen. The screen is black with the backlight on, but nothing shows. It also does not show the Windows 7 4-color 'circling' window, but goes straight to the screen where I c...

The mouse buttons are part of the keyboard, not of the palmrest.

As long as you leave 15-20% free(unpartitioned) at the end (for overprovisioning), you can partition the rest all you like.

All here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/jp/en/prod ... /downloads
They may shortly be transferring (or started already) all the drivers etc. to the EOL portal: https://download.lenovo.com/eol/index.html
Wait a few days, then try there.

OUT with the T440/p clickpad, IN with the T450 touchpad-with-buttons.
Check that you have a Lenovo trackpoint, and not one from HP/Dell/etc.

Re: X60t bios

Go into BIOS, check that all devices are allowed in the boot-section, set USB-harddrive as first boot-item, remove HD/SSD and try to boot fom that USB-stick.
If no go, you have a bad USB-port or other hardware problem.

Re: New FRU/System service parts lookup system

All we need now is to get that Model-list sorted and more complete.

As an aside, and I don't want to be mean, but most people who work on a specific Thinkpad will already have the matching HMM and frubom/parts list.

Its motherboard was replaced at one time, without the MTM and S/N and UUID being updated.
Do so with this program using the info from the sticker on the X60t bottom.
Then try again.
