Re: Total solution for absolutely ZERO oscillatory noise in t4x

Thanks for the information. If I'm right the 26R9074 is the same fan that's already in my T43 (3 years old). If so, I don't understand why a new fan (of the same type) will solve the fan issues. Besides noise I dislike my T43 for the amount of heat it produces. Of course, TPFancontrol kan solve most...

Re: Total solution for absolutely ZERO oscillatory noise in t4x

Hi, I'm having the annoying pulse sound on my T43 as well. I'm trying to find out if the long fan (type 26R9074) is compatible with my T43 (type 2668) and if the long fan will solve the pulse noise as well (I'm not very eager to drill a hole in my current fan actually). So; will replacing my current...

Use adapter 02K6751 for T43?

A friend of mine gave me adapter 02K6751 as a spare adapter for my T43. This adapter is, according to the Lenovo site, for the R40 (and others) but not for the T43. Also output is different: 1.2a-0.5a, my original T43 adapter: 1.5a-0.9a. The adapter works fine (tested for only a few seconds), is it ...

Thanks for your reply! I tried your suggestions, no solution and after an extra few hours of trying I decided to do a reinstall. After reinstallation wifi worked again. T43 WLAN problems :-(

Since a few days I'm having problems with Wifi connections on my T43. I can no longer connect to my accesspoint when WEP is enabled. I used Thinkvantage System Update to update my Wifi drivers and Thinkvantage Access Connections but no solution. I also completely removed Thinkvantage Access Connecti...

Hi, Good to see that this thread is still active. :-) I finally applied thermal grease (Zalman STG1) on my own T43 today. It was relatively easy, only had to figure out how to remove the fan unit to get to the CPU. The rest was easy. Now about the results, I have the feeling my CPU is about 4 to 5 d...

I'm already using TPFancontrol and tried different settings with the Power Profile, RMClock, NHC, Powerplay etc. Yesterday I experimented with ATITool to underclock the GPU, it's to short to draw conclusions yet, but the first results are promising. I only wish the machine to keep quiet during norma...

Just apply a thin layer on the CPU die will do and use a card to spread the grease evenly on the CPU die. *Use AS5 as recommended by most of the members here* Wipe off the old grease on the GPU and CPU thoroughly... Applying thermal grease on T43

Hi, a few months ago I bought Zalman STG thermal grease. Still did not find the time (and guts) to apply it on my T43 (with still more than 2 years of warrenty..). I'm also experiencing the same problems; irritating buzzing noise when fan is on, and fan makes alot of noise once the machine reaches a certain temperature. Yes, even though we can control our fan speed, there is a typo/bug in the T43 EC Firmware!! They fixed the buzz in the T40-T42, but mis-typed the fix for the T43/R52. I can't believe there has not been more of an outcry over something like that, it would probably improve the issue of the pulse/buzz...

I've contacted IBM (or Lenovo) on this and they claim fan noise is no known issue.

Well, for me TPFanControl does not solve the buzzing noise. The buzzing fan noise is only heard when using TPFanControl!!

If I turn off TPFanControl, the buzzing noise is gone, but than the fan starts to blow and never turns off. :(

I'm not sure what you mean. The noise is not coming from the speakers. It's a pulsing noise with a 5 second interval.

In other threads I read that the noise is caused by a readout of the fan controller.

If it is really making a buzzing noise, then that is beyond just annoying fan noise and an indication of a real problem. Try to get as much done on it now as you can, backup your data, then send it into IBM. It could just turn out to be the fan assembley anyway. At least you will know if it is fixa...

Sending in my T43 for repair because of fan noise?

Hi, Since I cannot stand the fan noise my T43 fan produces (onces it turns on, it never turns off, and when using TPFanControl it generates a buzzing noise every 5 seconds) I called IBM support this morning. I'm already running the latest BIOS for the T43. IBM Support claims that the fan noise is no...

If you're running TPFanControl this might be the same issue?

Found a solution for the buzzing (at least in my case). The buzzing seems to be caused by TPFanControl.

Without TPFanControl the buzzing is gone, but of course the fan noise is back. I've switched to SmartFan for now..

happens with SmartFan as well.. :(
