Thinkpad Tablet 2 working properly with Windows 10
This is just a note to say that I've just installed Windows 10 on one of my Thinkpad Tablet 2 units and despite the (because of the?) large number of posts on Lenovo and Intel forums complaining about the lack of a graphics driver for the Z2760 Atom in 2015, it's all working fine a year later. I did...

Re: ThinkPad Tablet 2 - USB Recovery Media
For anyone who's still interested in this year and a half old thread, I have succeeded restoring one of our Thinkpad Tablet 2s using a USB recovery image created by... our other Thinkpad Tablet 2 using the built in Windows recovery media creator. The biggest hassle was getting it to boot for the USB...

Re: How bout that Miix 700?
We've got two of the m3 ones with 4GB. There was a firmware update for the keyboard that got rid of the worst of the keyboard issues to the point now where I'm not that bothered by it. I find the m3 just fine for what we do, which is mostly Remote Desktop and cloud apps in browsers.

Re: T400 questions, system board replacement, possible upgrade??
If you do want all the Thinkvantage stuff, download and install the latest Lenovo System Update from their web site (a Google search will take you to the right place). You will need Microsoft Dot NET 4 or later. As long as you have programmed in your machine type and serial number to your new mother...

Re: Windows 10 upgrade on T410 and T420
Latest update in this saga - 1.67.09.03 driver alone doesn't stop the charge thresholds from disappearing. I notice that the T410 that behaves itself is also running Power Manager 6.66.3 whereas the misbehaving ones are running 6.68.8. I have downgrade to 6.66.3 on all of them and we'll see what hap...

Confirmed, using power management driver 1.67.09.03 stops the charge threshold settings disappearing. Solved the problem with both the T410 and the T420.

Re: Tried Windows 10 on my X201 and went back to 8.1
I've done the upgrades to my T410 collection lately, which if I'm not mistaken are just larger versions of the x201 with an optical drive and a couple more ports (first generation i5 CPU, Intel HD graphics). I've done one fresh install and three upgrade-from-Windows-7 installs. The fresh install was...

Re: T60P "official" FireGL V5250 video card drive for WIN7
I was hoping these drivers would be WDDM 1.1 so that I could enable things such as hardware acceleration with IE11 but they are still WDDM 1.0 (Vista) drivers. Good thing is that they're all signed and install without a hitch. I'd been using the modded Catalyst 10.2 drivers which pop up a warning on...

Re: Windows 10 upgrade on T410 and T420
Interesting that your touchpad breaks with every Windows update. I'll have to keep an eye out but since driver updates are not handled by our WSUS, we may not have this problem. In other news, I've downgraded our PM drivers from 1.67.10.20 to 1.67.09.03 which the Thinkpads with no charge threshold i...

Windows 10 upgrade on T410 and T420
I've upgraded my three T410s and one T420 from Windows 7 to Windows 10. All machines are joined to a domain, which I thought would add a nice twist to things. I'd also read about the lack of availability of my favourite Thinkvantage Tools such as Power Manager and Access Connections, so I thought I'...

I had to disable the WWAN card from the device manager in order for it to stop interfering with Access Connections. Turning the radio off via Fn-F5 wasn't enough.

Re: Access Connections very unresponsive after update to 6.25.65
I noticed something similar with my T410 and I tracked it down to the SMS function in Access. Connections - mine has a WWAN card. If I disabled the WWAN card by any means, Access Connections was nice and fast. Re-enabling the card brought all the delays back. This is both with a SIM installed and no...

Re: When did you first start using the trackpoint and why?
I first came across a trackpoint on a friend's Thinkpad in 1996. It was one of the older models, a 365 I think. I used it a few times and absolutely hated the trackpoint. I couldn't control it at all and gave up quite quickly. My friend told me the trackpoint was an acquired taste. Fast forward to 2...

WTB, x201 recovery discs, Win7 x64, Vista recovery media for x301 if you have it.
Hi there, Just bought an x201, but it came with no hard drive or recovery discs, and the product key on the COA has worn off and therefore unreadable. Hi there,
Does any have the original R52 preload image available? I have just bought one second hand for the kids, and apart from the stinky BIOS password I will sort out one day, I would like to put the original preload image back onto it.
Thanks,

And even then it will not look quite right (if you care about such things) as the T60 has a flat bezel on the optical drive whereas the T42 has a beveled one.

The first one is the locking screw for the DVD drive. It normally isn't included and is only fitted if you want to make the DVD drive non-removable. The second screw should be there though. Well, it is on mine.

Re: Are you guys satisfied with your T60?
I have a T60p which is just like a T60 but with a p on the end. I have to agree with the others here - I used to have a T42p and the T60p feels much sturdier. I'm very happy with mine - it has a 14in SXGA+ display, a T7600 CPU, 4GB of RAM (3GB usable) and a Western Digital Scorpio Black 160GB hard d...

I tried the Mobility Modder with the 10.8 drivers and it did not work with the FireGL V5250. Apparently support for that generation of video chips was removed with the release of the 10.3 drivers.

Nothing at all now - I wasn't aware that you could keep the Catalyst Control Center. Well, the modded driver is slightly newer. In any case, it didn't work.
