I have used
modprobe cs4232 io=0x530 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0 mpuio=0x330 mpuirq=7 synthio=0x330 synthirq=7

too. but... Module cs4232 not found.

I have tp 600. I use the script by http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showpost.ph ... stcount=12 and the system returns:
Sdev/id: no such file pr directory.
why?? probably xubunto doesn't found any sound device?
It worked with win98!!

well, synaptic says alsaconf is installed but alsaconf returns "command not found". I use alsactl restrore and the answer is :no soundcards found... :evil:

what I have to edit in xorg.conf?? The system shows the correct video-card but it doesn't use all the inches, i.e. there is a black space around the desktop! xorg.conf has many susections display and...what to do? hot to run xorgconfig or xorgsetup?? and alsaconf?? "command not found"! :(

Driver for Linux on TP 600

Hi boyz.
I have just installed Xubuntu 6.06 on my old TP 600 (PII 300 + 64 MB ram) now I'm looking for video and audio drivers but... nothing!! Please, help me!! Note: this tp hasn't any net-card so it isn't on-line.

:banana: problem solved!! thanks to all... now I have to upgrade bios...without battery!!Is it possible??I need to upgrade to install linux but battery is too old and system doesn't upgrade without charged battery :(

Sorry if this comes off as a little snarky, but you consider these files important, yet you normally don't make any backups? Hard drives are known to go bad at random moments (especially when they get older). What would you do if the HD just stops working tomorrow? ummm...it's so but my brother did...
