Display problem
Just today I started to have a "yellow" verical line from top to bottom on my display screen. It appears even before I choose my startup OS. Oddly I can't get a screenshot of it. Oh I can get the picture, but it doesn't show the line. Anyone know how to fix it? Is it the display screen itself? Softw...

Re: Need some Ultrabay help...
Use a small flat screwdriver and try to push the narrow shiny metal strips in, they are only a weak type of metal. Straightening them out should do the trick. If you take out the HD, you can also see the middle part of that shiny strip inside the HD bay. Success! With the HD out and a few more scre...

Re: Need some Ultrabay help...
Are you talking about the two metal "springs" on the left, inside the ultrabay? They are attached together. But to fix/remove those, you'd need to take the whole chassis (incl. mobo) out and turn it over. Then you can pull it out, bend it straight and reinsert it, or keep it out altogether. There's...

Need some Ultrabay help...
Just lately I had difficulty removing my ultrabay and I see that the little silver friction/pressure thingy on the left side is sticking out. This is on the PCs socket, not the ultrabay cartidge. I will try a gradual dismantle to see if i can "get at it" and fix it somehow but the manual I have does...

My printer stopped working for me.
I have a printer that still works using Windows (8), but when running my preferred OS Linux Mint 14 does not perform well anymore. I tried installing the Epson software for Ubuntu, but got some errors. Anyone know a fix? Using LM14 on a T61 and the printer is a wireless Epson WF-2530.

I pressed some of my function keys looking for the one that puts the display to sleep and now my touchpad is disabled. It is still functioning 'cause I rebooted into Windows (from Linux) and here it is fine. Also, swapped out the HD for another one with a backup (same Linux OS) and it works fine. I ...

Re: Sticking an SSD in a T60
I recently bought an SSD for my T61. Found a nicely priced one on eBay and luckily it was an Intel. Someone gave me the tip that Intel supplies free software to Intel users that makes transferring your "old" drive's contents to your "new" one. I use it to keep a complete drive backup on a 2nd SSD (f...

Re: Ultrabay use with an advanced dock (T61).
Yes the Ultrabay adapter takes SATA drives, but the Ultrabay adapter hooks up to the computer via a PATA to SATA adapter. So natively it is a PATA connection. You can try it for youself. Take it out with the machine on. Your T61 will whine at you and will not recognize any device in there until you...

Re: Ramdrive and T42 and Youtube & better than SSD performance
Ah Ramdrive, haven't played with that since DOS 6.22. A Ramdrive to a SSD is like a SSD to a floppy. There's not comparison. I wish more software manufacture would make it easier to utilize such device. Modern OSs and software are suppose to handle all of this and on the most part they do. Assuming...

Can drives in the ultrabay drive slot in the advanced dock be safely removed/inserted while the machine is running? I was not able to do this with my T30 so I'm hesitant to try this without first checking here.
