Re: How to avoid the annoying Avira pop-ups! :-)

Thanks for sharing this - I downloaded Avira Antivir Personal (the free edition) a couple of days ago, as a replacement of my hitherto AVG Free (v. 7.5, no longer supported). While Avira runs fine on mt T42p w/Win XP Pro (but in contrast seems to boot quite slow under Windows XP Home), I was a bit ...

You know, I think I read that website too quickly. It looks like just their Premium Security Suite has the firewall. I guess I'll leave the Zone Alarm as is. sorry about that

I am going to try out Avira. I also run Zone Alarm free as a firewall, and see that the Avira Free version has a firewall. Can they be run together, or should I turn off Zone Alarm? thank you

Re: MP3 Player with Separate FFD and Skip buttons

Oh, don't get started with talking about pushing buttons and stuff while driving, that's dangerous  Really, though, it sounds like you need separate hard buttons on the player for FFD and RWD. I found this website with several remote controls for iPods and a few also offer FFW and RWD buttons, ...

my treo 755 doesn't look anything like when I took it out of the box. I skin it with zLauncher which is highly customizable. If you want a good Today screen, I use and highly suggest all of the programs on the shsh.com website. His 2Day program is excellent and integrates perfectly with your onboard...

Re: recommendations for ear buds

The .mp3 player that I own is the Creative Zen, it also plays videos and has a large screen. I got mine on Ebay for $35, but here are the specs: http://us.creative.com/products/product ... duct=16999

I like that you can use an SD card for extra storage.

Re: Which phone should I get? Treo 700wx or 700p

I have not used a Centro, but that is a good choice too, it is the Palm OS. The screen is a tiny bit smaller than the 700 or 755 Palm's but it still has the superfast EVDO data that they both have and a good battery life. The only difference is the keyboard is a little more cramped than the other tw...

Re: Which phone should I get? Treo 700wx or 700p

well the 700's are not made any longer, the newest Palm's are the 800W (windows). I own the Palm Treo 755p and I highly recommend the Palm OS over the WM6 ANY day. You can get some good prices on the 755's on ebay now. The 755's do everything the 700's did but are more stable and have no antennae.

I own many makes of earbuds, my two best ones are the Shure sound isolating earbuds and the V-Moda Bass Freq earbuds mentioned above. I paid $60 for the Shure (on sale) and I paid $20 for the V-Moda (ebay) but the V-Moda have a better sound to my ear and are almost as sound isolating as the more exp...

My Creative Zen player has a separate Seek To function button that allows you to forward and rewind anywhere in the file; then it has a separate Skip hard button. I have the Zen 6GB player that also plays video files (but I got mine on ebay for $30) http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?catego...

yes, it is asking for your POP3 info (incoming and outgoing) as this type of machine can format copies to .pdf and send them to an email address; therefore it needs this network info. Whatever we may think, this issue *is* a problem. Cell phones, Blackberries, text messaging devices et al are on the way to being outlawed when driving in Ontario. It may have already happened - I don't precisely know. I am reasonably in favour of this. I see people careening around 4 lanes of traf...
