wtb: spare part for 90W slim travel power supply

Hi there, I have owned one of the very useful 90W travel power supplies, but recently it started to misbehave. It looks like the output voltage is unstable, causing the screen to flicker (basically switching between plugged in-plugged out power states). Through changing bits with friends I narrowed ...

HyDrive: integrated optical drive + SSD

Hola, sounds like a seriously cool concept: take an optical drive, add a 32/64gb SSD into the same package, voila . Supposedly available in August. I had originally planned to replace my harddisk with a SSD, and add an ultrabay harddisk adapter, but if Hitachi-LG really pulls this off, it is probabl...

Re: T60 dead over night, indicator lights go off on power up

for future reference & anyone unlucky enough to have the same problem: don't despair. as I said, I completely took the T60 apart the day after it went dead (completely meaning "I had the bare system board in my hands"), and cleaned everything - no change, 2 days, 5 days later - nothing, even with th...

Re: LF: T60 14" SXGA+ ATI

see my reply in the other thread - probably true, but I want a track point, and more importantly, a drop-in replacement to get to my data again as quickly as possible. while the area here is quite rural, I have access to a computer-friendly environment.

Re: T60 dead over night, indicator lights go off on power up

probably true, and thanks for the advice. I'm only going to be here for 4 months, and mostly in somewhat protected settings. my older T23 did just fine a few years back (except for some tiny ants running around on the reflecting background of the display, creating mobile dead pixels, among other iss...

Re: T60 dead over night, indicator lights go off on power up

I already took it completely apart, without any changes or beeps. I thought the combination of dust, ants & high humidity might have caused problems and tried to clean it as thoroughly as possible, but nothing changed. removing the wlan-card etc didn't change anything either... tough luck, I guess. ...

LF: T60 14" SXGA+ ATI

Since my old T60 apparently just went dead at a very bad time, I need a replacement as quickly as possible. I'm looking for a T60 with 14" SXGA display and a ATI X1300 or X1400. The condition of the laptop doesn't have to be perfect, and I don't necessarily need an optical drive / battery / ram / hd...

Re: T60 dead over night, indicator lights go off on power up

I tried that trick already yesterday, did not work. however, after the thinkpad was disconnected from everything (battery/AC) over night, it worked for about 5 seconds (long enough to show a post screen), then failed again. maybe of interest: once the T60 fails, I have to disconnect every power sour...

T60 dead over night, indicator lights go off on power up

hey everyone, I just moved to Tanzania two days ago, and while I was settling down my T60 stopped working over night. It was in stand-by over night, but all lights were off in the morning. When I reseated the battery and the power brick, the charging / power connected symbols came up, but as soon as...

LTB: 14" T60 batteries (4:3)

Hoi,

as the subject says - I'm looking for one or two batteries for my T60 (14", 4:3). more interested in 6-cell, but might be tempted for a 9-cell as well.

T400: broken plastic in USB port?

hi everyone, in a recently bought T400. one of the usb-ports just failed. when pulling off a MF628-umts-modem, the plastic nose from the port stuck inside the plug. when lenovo was called up about it, they quoted a ~130€ repair fee, and suggested that this was most likely caused by the user, and tha...

WTB: T60 14" fan assembly, keyboard bezel, SXGA display

the most basic solution is to use a video player like VLC, which completely ignores region codes. not reason to mess around with the dvds or the drive, just put the dvd in and play. vlc is nifty anyway, there is hardly a format it doesn't recognize without using strange codec packs or whatnot. oh, a...

Rescue & Recovery: remote storage providers?

Hi everybody, I was recently looking into optimizing my backup-strategies again. mozy was fine, until I realized that they delete a locally deleted file after 30 days in the backup as well. wtf? since rescue & recovery offers both a primary & a secondary backup location, I was thinking about finally...

access connections woes

Hi guys, I've been using AC on my T60 for quite some time without problems. recently, the wlan card (intel 3945 abg) started to act up: using Fn-F5 I couldn't switch it on anymore: the buttons and everything would be there, along with bluetooth, but clicking on "on" would just produce an hourglass f...

if you have win xp with service pack 2 installed, size shouldn't be an issue, as long as you get a pata-disc.

mine is/was running with a 120gb disc, which worked both in an ultrabay adapter and the normal slot.

as far as I know, there is no other problem. the thinkpad died a slow death over several month. why not? mainly no proper soldering equipment (at least nothing delicate enough..).

LF: T23 logic board, T60 power supply (normal or traveller)

Salü,

looking for the parts mentioned in the topic:

one working logic board for a T23 (mine fell victim to the pulsating fan issue, soldering is no option) and

a spare T60 power brick.

Please include shipping to Austria, Europe when making an offer.

Thanks,

Bought a new T60 from Dimitri_P, friendly contact, very forgiving when I had some problems with paypal and shipped the package quickly once everything was sorted out. Hardly worth noting that the T60 was shiny & new, as offered. :)
