Similar problem solved by small engineering
I had a very similar problem on another 'p' model, the A31p which has the Fire GL 7800 chip. Over a year's use the system warmed up a lot of the time and the fan never stopped. I'd opened it up several times out of curiosity but it was when I tried to play games that system would abruptly turn off. ...

Well I did it, I purchased a small tube of Arctic Silver 5 off one of the computer modding web sites - about £7.50 with postage. A31 cooling fan never stops
Try using MobMeter (search google on mobmeter.exe, the web site is in Japanese but there is a english page as well). It is the only utility I've found that can monitor the ACPI api and get the temperature from the motherboard probes. It works a dream ... now to get something that can CHANGE the ACPI...
