Re: Travel charger for P1?

It's supposed to arrive this month. It seems quite legit. I posted a question to them just after my donation/order concerning the specs and got a swift email reply, i.e. from SlimQ support. It's smaller, certainly lighter than the other GaN USB-C chargers out there, supports both USB-C and USB-A cab...

Have a look here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/slimq-world-s-smallest-65w-gan-adapter#/ Thank you! I ordered this and a "perk" as well, an extra USB C2C cable. GaN I hadn't heard of before but my online investigations suggest it's definitely the best way to go for this. This deal looks good t...

Re: Got a T60 at flea market, need battery/charger

I bought my first Lenovo T60 in 2006 for $1000 from Lenovo and it was running XP. I think mine has the same CPU as yours, but is 14" while yours has 15" screen. I whiffed on the free upgrade to Vista, tried too late. Later I upgraded to Win7 which it ran fine. I did the free upgrade to Win10 and it'...

Travel charger for P1?

The supplied charger for my 3.75lb P1 weighs 13.26oz and is rated at 135 watts. Yeah, the P1 is kind of big and heavy for a travel computer and I'm shopping diligently for a for-me OK travel computer that's smaller and lighter. Meantime, the P1 is my best travel computer but I'd like a lighter charg...

Can I swap LEFT and RIGHT mouse buttons on P1? SOLVED!!!

I use my right hand for the trackpad and mouse buttons (Left/Center/Right). I'm finding that I'm hitting the middle button too often instead of the left. Not sure I'd like it but I'd like to try (if possible) swapping the RIGHT and LEFT mouse buttons. Is that doable? Edit: Found it in Mouse Properti...

Re: Thinkpad P1, optical drive options / battery vs adapter issues

In my T6x machines there was a way I could customize the battery charging parameters. Things like stop charging the battery if it reached 60%. I just looked and couldn't find something like that in the P1 settings. Is it there somewhere? Install Lenovo Vantage and the charge threshold setting shoul...

When installing Windows 7 Pro from scratch and then applying the updates, I use the Service Pack 1 single file download from the Microsoft site and then use WSUS Offline Update to add everything else. I've been running Windows 10 64 bit on this T61 for a few years. When I find the time I'm going back to Windows 7 64 bit. My biggest gripe is that I have been able to find no remedy for seemingly random and very frequent tiling of all my windows, like a chess board, when swiping the trackpad, just m...

My T60 running Windows 10 32bit when suspended will charge devices off its USB ports. My T61 running Windows 10 64 bit will not. Re: T60 with 2504 mini dock, 23" & 19" displays -- has desktop icon names blurry

I guess these are the drivers. All ATI chips from that era have poor to none support under W10. I do have a T60 with ATI graphics, however it's running XP and not used a lot. Re: T60 with 2504 mini dock, 23" & 19" displays -- has desktop icon names blurry

Yes, W10 is the culprit! However, when I ran Windows 7 on the machine I was getting delays sometimes a few minutes before I had control of the machine again. Moving to Windows 10 stopped those delays... They were hell, the blurred icon names is an annoyance. I'm not retreating to Windows 7 on that ...

T60 with 2504 mini dock, 23" & 19" displays -- has desktop icon names blurry

The 23" is the main display and is getting the DVI from the mini-dock. The 19" is getting the VGA. T60's own display is left off. Am running Windows 10 32 bit. All the icons are on the 23" display connected by DVI, the extended desktop to the 19" display run on VGA is empty. The icon names on the 23...

OMG... I just did another search and found this: Windows key + Control + C... it turns everything B&W. Even a reboot doesn't restore color. Dang, you'd think they wouldn't play that trick on you. With Middleton's BIOS you can use any Lenovo W7 Recovery diskset. A COA that came with a bought W7 is only valid for that exact same type of W7 (Home, Pro, Ultimate, etc.). You might get lucky with 32 or 64 bit of the same type, don't know. The COA on the machine (sticker on bottom) is for Vista Bu...

If 64-bit runs on it, then 32-bit definitely also will. It just won't use all the memory if there is more than 4GB. That I knew. What I'm concerned about is the licensing. The crazy thing is it doesn't happen all the time, just occasionally, seemingly as a result of the same type of finger swipe across the trackpad that at other times doesn't cause the behavior. It's been suggested that I can turn off some or all of the fancy features of trackpad, with the exclusion o...
