Re: New Member - With a few questions, T61p. ***pics***

Simply download Lenovo System Update and let the ThinkPad automatically update...including any BIOS update. Also do Windows update for the latest drivers and OS updates. More DDR2 RAM and an SSD are nice if your budget can handle them but you will need 64bit Windows to take advantage of up to 8gb of...

Re: New X60 notebook owner...

The X60 is a nice laptop. It only supports 3GB memory but runs Windows7 very nicely.

If you have the $$ an SSD would be OK...but the X60 can run a much larger drive for just peanuts.

Welcome back to the forum.

There is a known issue with the mouse/pen pointer wanting to drop to a corner...and there is a flash to correct the problem. It is a pain to load the flash software...a long story. I just put up with the problem.

Re: Love my (free) X41 Tablet... now how to upgrade it?

For what it is worth...Windows 7 runs fine on the X41T. It loads the Tablet features and will make loading an OS a breaze. Best way to install is while connected to the internet via ethernet. Although the video driver is not the best...all other features are just fine.

Re: Seeking X-31 replacement

Yes...the X200s meets your requirements. I have had the X200 and X200s and prefer the X200 as the screen is easier to read. The X200 is fast, almost as light, and the high capacity battery will last 5 hours very easy.

Kingston Memory comes with a Lifetime Warranty...contact them and get an RMA. That should solve your problem.

64 bit will run just fine...you can even consider 8GB of RAM since the price has dropped like a rock.

I had the same problem with an R51...it is now in a box of spare parts. I could not justify any more labor to fix the problem.

If you cannot fix it with drivers...I would suggest replacing the wireless adapter. It is a simple job. Did you try reloading your OS?

You have come to the right place...but it is hard to part with this excellent model. You are actually looking for a 15" T60p.

Good Luck in your hunt.

Re: T60p max RAM & other silly questions

Two monitors...of course. You have a lot of flexibility with monitors. It is nice to find a monitor that matches the same top resolution and format of your T60 screen. It probably will reflect on your budget as to how many monitors you buy and the desk space. A lot of people like to find one monitor...

Re: T60p max RAM & other silly questions

I have heard of successful upgrading of the T60p CPU...I believe Brad has done it. There may be a concern for heat issues but I believe a T7600 is compatible and the fastest cpu available for your T60p. Others can confirm that fact. But in my opinion...it is not worth the effort, time and money sinc...

There is a T61s on eBay...presently at $25 shipped. There are a ton of T61 ThinkPads on eBay for dirt cheap. However from what I can see the Z61m and the T61 series do not have many parts that interchange. I cannot see if a Z61t screen will work. You might keep an eye out on this eBay unit: http://c...

Well GPU Medic's email address and website is no longer working. Also, they never returned my T43p motherboard with 128 mb graphics. All emails went unanswered after they told me the board may not be repairable but they would get back to me. Hmmmm. It was worth a try...but apparently they cannot ove...
