Win7 and ThankVantage Power Manager
I have a T400 running Win7. Has anyone had any conflicts between Win7's Power control panel and ThinkVantage's Power Manager? Which takes precedence? Do they synchronize their settings in some way? What happens when you change settings in the Windows Power control panel while ThinkVantage's Power Ma...

ThinkVantage Opinions on T400
Please give me your Cheers and Jeers regarding the different ThinkVantage apps available for the T400 using Win7. Which ones do I really need? Which ones are nice to have? Which are a waste of time and performance? Does Win7 handle most everything fine on its own? Opinions much appreciated. Thanks! ...

Re: T43 Freezes/Crashes when I Dock
Anyone else have an opinion on this?
Does it make sense that a laptop has to be turned off in order to dock it? Laptops have been hot docking for many years now. I would like to know why sometimes my laptop does a hard crash when I try it.
Any help or opinions are appreciated.

Re: T43 Freezes/Crashes when I Dock
I was not aware of this. I have been using a Thinkpad with a docking station for perhaps the last 8 years and have never "needed" to have the laptop turned off to dock it. Are you saying I have been fortunate or are you suggesting a good work around for the problem?
How about hibernation?

T43 Freezes/Crashes when I Dock
I have a T43 with a type 2878 docking station. For quite a few years I have had an intermittent problem with the T43 "dying" when I dock it to the docking station. What happens is before I dock, the laptop is asleep so you see the little green sleep light on. When I snap the machine into the dock, t...

Unfortunately, I don't have a system restore but I do have a lot of installed programs that show blank in the Add/Remove Programs control panel. I read that it is possible to restore the uninstall info by editing the registry, but I did not find details on exactly what or where in the registry to ed...

Wow, thanks for the quick replies! I have tried to reinstall everything and the Software Installer still doesn't think anything has changed. I wasn't aware of the PC Doctor problem and I have recently wiped out my system restore due to a possible virus, so there is really nothing to restore. Can thi...

Software Installer Problems
I have a T43 and have faithfully used Software Installer to keep it up to date. However, after my last update I realize that the Software Installer now believes I have uninstalled a lot of items - items that really are installed.
Any ideas on how to sync Software Installer to reality?
Thanks!
Bruce
