I'm sure it will not work as the X60(s) needs a completely different voltage (and that's just one of the reasons). What however does work is reusing UltraBase X4 HDD bay modules inside an UltraBase X6.

> I have no idea what that command does, but it worked for me. Theoretical background: The (K)Ubuntu kernel tries to load the uhci_hcd module on system start at a point of time where no filesystems have been mounted yet. Without a file system usually this wouldn't work unless the module was compiled...

Why would you want to go for a 1.8" HDD if you could save the weight of the HDD and run your OS from the SD card reader ;-)

x60s and linux battery time

Using linux there are two major things that you should take care of wrt your X60s to increase battery time: 1.) Put your WLAN card into powersave mode by adding the following line to your start scripts: iwpriv eth1 set_power 7 (or use "iwpriv eth1 set_power 1"). This will also reduce the heat proble...

X6 UltraBase - line out or headphone out?

I actually tried to record some music (my digital piano ...) using the X60s (also tried with the UltraBase X6) via the microphone jack. However the quality was quite bad (probably due to some hardware processing that was made automatically to "enhance" the quality). So should Lenovo ever decide to "...

X60 ultrabase experience

Works quite well here. My complain concerning the UltraBase X6 are the parallel and serial port. Lenovo, it's 2007 and instead of a much more needed DVI port I get some ports that are of no practical use these days. Even worse: adding a parallel and serial port using either 3rd party hardware or spe...

Next time you post graphs like this, could you please post them using units that are not US centric? I got the impression that this is an international forum and given that Celsius has been internationally accepted I'd like to kindly ask you to use that next time. Thanks in advance :D

I just installed Version 7BETC5WW (2.06). As I'm using Linux/Kubuntu as my operating system I downloaded the ISO. The update went without problems. Still the loud and long beep in between was very scary (as it made me almost assume that the application had crashed). The message "Still one more minut...

Creaking cover/lid on X60s. Normal?

I had the very same problem after I bought my thinkpad: Every time I opened the lid I heard that frightening creak that sounded like my Thinkpad broke apart. However in my case it became more and more rare and now after seven weeks of usage it's gone (maybe running Linux/KDE on it had a beneficial i...
