Re: T14 Modding, Keyboard, Screen

ref 1.8 mm travel keyboard in the T14 G4 (16:10) I'd also be interested, if it would be possible to fit the better 1.8 mm key travel keyboard of the T14 G2 into the T14 G4 (16:10). Same for the P1 (16:10). Personally I would not care about voiding the warranty, if - finally - I could get something a...

Re: TRUE old tech users, using today

For daily work stil using a T43p 4:3 UXGA SATA mod, thanks to RealBlackStuff and ajkula66. Respect.
This one still has the classic 7-row keyboard, without the Windows Key.

Re: T43p SATA Guide (There are pictures, it's 2020)

Thanks to ajkula66 and RealBlackStuff  I use a T43p SATAmod UXGA every day for code development and as a typewriter. That is for the keyboards (the matching external one too) and the 4:3 screen at 133DPI and a case with the great haptics. This is unsurpassed! The old CPU of the T43p is telling ...

@RealBlackStuff,

Thank you. I'll keep it in my archive.
One of your SATA-modded T43p's is still in daily use on the other side of the big pond. :)

Re: Thinkpadders, do NOT Rejoice, WEEP and/or DESPAIR!

That remains to be seen, since the PWM was not present on the T470 that was tested by Notebookcheck, yet showed up its ugly face on the T25. Might be an issue for some people, but it isn´t a bug as much as it is a difference between different display panels. Some use PWM, some don´t. That is barley...

Re: Thinkpadders, do NOT Rejoice, WEEP and/or DESPAIR!

Sorry the review at Notebookcheck revealed that the FHD only screen has PWM flicker. They were surprised by that, yes. It may be panel-dependent? In their T470 review they did not notice PWM, and AFAIK, there are two different FHD IPS options for T470 and T25. They also mentioned that at a 1000Hz f...

Re: Thinkpadders, do NOT Rejoice, WEEP! (*LARGE PICS*)

I would be happy to participate in crowd funding for a classic Thinkpad.

For the poorly equipped T25 I would have to consider to spend even as much as 1000,- EUR.

Re: Thinkpadders Rejoice (*LARGE PICS*)

Probably Lenovo did not actually "decide it", most likely Lenovo have lost the ability to achieve the high demands set by long-standing Thinkpad customers and by the brand name "Thinkpad" itself. I'm afraid I might not have the funds available for this by next month so just wondering if there is any hope down the line. Re: And another reason to avoid Micro$haft's W10

By coincidence I just migrated one T60 T5500 from Linux Mint KDE (a LTS release from 2016)
to Manjaro 17.0 KDE and I am absolutely happy.
Manjaro 17 is fast and absolutely hassle free so far.
Its tested rolling release model gives me a good balance between quick software patches and stability.
