Re: Running on an X61 Tablet - first impressions

Working great after about a month. Bluetooth, wireless, etc all working great. If you are afraid, I would suggest a drive image with your current O.S. then install 7 and give it a go. Better yet, buy a $60 hard drive and install 7 on that, that way you will have the other drive ready to go in case y...

Re: MS Nightmare: Windows 7 deemed LESS secure than Vista

The wide beta approach is just plain dumb from a product engineering point of view, but the Microsoft marketing people probably love it in terms of creating market "buzz".... however its, pragamatically, just another case of marketing style triumphing over product substance ! Re: Hitachi Travelstar 7K320 320GB 7200 compatibility with x60s?

You shouldn't have any vibration or noise issues with that drive but you will not get sata300 on an x60 or x61. Lenovo has dummied down the hardware. That being said, that drive should be the fastest (other than ssd) that you can put into your machine. Get a great price at zipzoomfly dotcom Install ...

Yeah...are you not able to restore from one of your backups(assuming you have one)?

A driver causing a complete hardware/os crash is pretty rare unless you are constantly fiddling with your machine.

I clicked ok and it opened right up. I have bee...

Re: Windows 7 Beta Know Issues (sticky?)

I too am running windows 7 beta 32 bit with virtually no issues on my x61t 4 gb travelstar 7k200. This is coming from Vista x64 and feel that windows 7 was an upgrade for me (at least after 3 days of run time). To fix the issue with turning on/off bluetooth and wireless separately, you have to open ...

Re: Windows 7 and Active protection

Although active protection is working great, I am noticing a small decrease in battery life. Maybe 20 minutes? I have not run any scientific tests but it just "feels" that way. Do you think this is true?

Does active protection eat away at battery life?

i am running x64sp1 on my x61t and it is running perfectly.

I did have to install the hotfix for high cpu usage off of the lenovo website though because before that i was consistently running around 60% cpu.

Couldnt be happier with my machine now.
