X31 RAM & DOS ???
I the x31 I have some DOS app that I run. I use Win XP and use a DOS window. I have noticed that in my DOS app (Clipper application) I have about 50K less available memory than I do on the T23. Totaly same configuration since I took drive from x31 to put on the T23 to test this! I'm wondering if any...

Thanks for the link, esp since it mentions the X31 so I feel more confident. I have more than a TB of USB drives connected, and I prefer not to have too big a a HD for the Internal since it becomes hard to manage, backup, etc. (the USB are considered as work space, temporary, etc and should always b...

60 vs 80
I feel totally stupid. I don't know how I missed that. My current configuration is X31 with 1.5 gb ram, using extern monitor and loads of external HD and other USB devices plugged in. I use this as my Desktop/Laptop/Everything computer and it's always on. Do I have to be concerned about moving to a ...

X31 & Intermitent Noise
I have my X31 for about three years, and I love it. The HD is a Hitatchi 60 gb 5400. Recently it make some heavy noises. But it's intermittent. Nothing would seem to indicate and HD problems. I ran the Hitatchi HD health diag. and it said all was good. Should I be concerned?

X31 & Bluetooth?
I have an X31 with bluetooth. I just bought a Blueant X3 Bluetooth headset. I tried pairing it with the computers Bluetooth and that seemed ok. But I could not do anything with it. I went into Bluetooth Devices and it shows under Audio Devices this X3 Micro. When I click on Properties and then Servi...

What is FSB? Over the 1.4 you should darn well see a noticable difference. My T43 uses the 533MHz FSB Dothan Core at 1.86GHz, which is about the same speed as my X60s because despite its slower clock and lower voltage, it has 2 cores. Your X31 is a 400MHz FSB Baninas Core at 1.4GHz. Whether you go t...

From what you are saying it sounds like I would not see a apreciable speed enhancement over my x31 which is a Pentium M 1.4. Am I right? 1. Not sure about the weight difference, but I know that you can only get WWAN in the X60s. Either way, the difference (if there is any) is so minute that you woul...

I do not own either model but I am interested in them too. Here is what I can tell for now. 1, The only difference between X60 and X60S essentially is that X60 is a low voltage version. but the battery life on both are the same 2, It seems that X60 is an update to X32 while X60s is update to X40 in...

X60 / X60s ??
I have been using the x31 for the past 2.5 years. Recently I started looking at the X60 and I have a few questions, hopefuly someone here can help. 1. What is the difference between the x60 and the x60s? I see that the x60 starts out heavier, but I don't see what's the cause of this? 2. the X60's cp...

This is not the one that I'm talking about. This one is standard with all win xp machines. Thinkpad x31 had one that was much nicer, and that is the one i'm looking for.

Refurb
If you are getting only 4 hours on this Extended battery, then I think this is a good reason why to stay away from a refurb since IBM claims MUCH longer life than that. This is just a bit better than a new regular battery

Extended Battery for X31 ?
I am thinking of buying an Exnteded battery for the X31. Has anyone here had experience with it and is able to tell me what aproximate life they get on a full charged battery? Also where can I find this battery somewhat discounted? It seems most places want MORE $ than IBM themselves. Is it a bad id...
