Windows 7/Tablet orientation questions
I've got the chance to evaluate an X60T with Windows 7 Ultimate. This unit has the high resolution color screen that requires the stylus. Looking for some guidance on questions like the ones below. 1) Can the tablet buttons be mapped to Shift and/or Control keys? I can map them to actions but haven'...

Re: x60 tablet; windows 7 wireless problems
Resolved
The X60T connected correctly to another test router. Replaced the B model with a newer generation N unit and things are looking good and fast.

Re: x60 tablet; windows 7 wireless problems
A forum member has loaned me an X60T for evaluation. I am seeing this same problem with a router I am using while on travel. The X60T has Windows 7, a/b/g wireless, and ThinkVantage AC 5. The router is an older Linksys Wireless-B 2.4GHz device. I have connected to this router in the past with my T60...

Re: T60 GPU overheats when doing 3D graphics
I think the problem is solved for now. 1) Taking out the new fan assembly, I noted uneven indentation on the thermal pad to the GPU. The heatpipes showed no obvious damange 2) I reinstalled the assembly and tried to keep even pressure across the screws Result: Overheating on Furmark and PC-Doctor 5 ...

Re: T60 GPU overheats when doing 3D graphics
Those GPU temps are too high, particularly if it appeared that the were about to go higher if you did not stop the test. I'd guess that the thermal pad is not contacting the GPU or there is a bend or break in the heat-pipe going to the GPU. Do you see any dents in the pipe?. Lets also talk about FR...

T60 GPU overheats when doing 3D graphics
T60 8755, 2GB RAM, XP SP3, running TPFanControl. The computer is out of warranty. I replaced the fan assembly in my T60 a couple of days ago. I ran PC Doctor 5 to ensure I didn't damage anything during the installation. When the 3D graphics test ran, the GPU temperature shot up from mid-60 deg C to ...

Re: Recovering from bad registry on a T60 and XP Pro SP3
Thanks for all the suggestions. I reinstalled XP from Rescue and Recovery which went faster than I expected. I'm up and running after several hours of patch installation, data transfer, and software reinstallation.

Re: Recovering from bad registry on a T60 and XP Pro SP3
Ok. Clearly I don't want to use the Product Recovery unless there's no other choice. I can get into Rescue and Recovery v4 so I will try restoring from there after my data backup completes. Unfortunately, I never created additional partitions on my T60. It came with just the one C: drive and I left ...

Re: Recovering from bad registry on a T60 and XP Pro SP3
When I tried Last Known Good Configuration, it would go into a loop. I'd see a mostly black screen for a while and then it would go back to the Boot Menu. I have a set of Product Recovery CDs that Lenovo sent to me because their provided software wouldn't allow me to make a set for myself. Could thi...

Recovering from bad registry on a T60 and XP Pro SP3
I installed a CAD viewer from a reputable company this afternoon on my T60 running XP3, 2GB RAM, 120GB HD, ATI graphics. All heck has broken loose. The system went unstable and now I cannot boot, even into any of the safe modes. There is some problem with the registry hive when trying to start XP. T...

Re: T60 wireless packet loss and inconsistent browsing
Thanks for the reference to Black Hole routers. The problem I am seeing is that I get packet losses with the internal card when pinging my own router set up as the default 192.168.1.1 (Netgear WGR614v6 with latest firmware). The external USB wireless adapter doesn't have this problem pinging the sam...

Re: T60 wireless packet loss and inconsistent browsing
I don't see IPv6 installed on this system. I checked both the internal and USB wireless adapters as well as the ethernet adapter.
The problem isn't as dire as the KB article. Only that the internal wireless card is lossy compared to the external wireless and wired connections.

T60 and Audioengine W1 wireless audio adapter?
I'm trying this USB wireless sound device http://audioengineusa.com/w1_home.php with my T60. I had a good experience with Brad when I was looking for a T60 battery a few months ago. Last Saturday, I asked him about getting a backup keyboard for the same computer. Antelope, I have never put my T60 into a dock so I have no direct experience. I've not seen any mouse or trackpad...

T60/Radeon X1400 optimization?
After a few frustrating weeks with graphics problems, my T60 is running a lot more stably thanks to help from the Forum. I'd now like to ask if there are ways to optimize the performance of the Radeon X1400 GPU. I've run the FurMark benchmark and the score is 132 o3Marks, 2 frames per second minimum...

Networking lockups on multiple (was one) sites
Addendum/Update to below: I am now getting video lockups on browser streamed videos from multiple sites; happens on FF3 and IE6. I have an Atheros card on an 8744-5BU. Power management is off. I uninstalled the driver, rebooted, and had the system reinstall the driver. Problem still occurs - especia...

My power manager on my T60 does not react.
