Is it possible to dual boot from:
X60 with Windows Vista
and Windows XP in Ultrabay HDD adapter in X6 Ultrabase
I read somewhere before that there is a BIOS option for this, but I couldn't find the orignal post.
Thanks for any input.

If you want to experiment, you can use TPFanControl to set the fan speed to zero and see which temperature will the system idle at (make sure you set it back after the experiment). In my case, I don't have a T60 but my X60 idles at about 42C degree when fan is bios controlled and 64C degree when fan...

"Irreparable damage to the battery has been detected&qu
I powered up my X60 this evening and a message from the Message Center told me that "Irreparable damage to the battery has been detected. Replace the battery with a new one". However, I checked the Power Manager and it says that the battery is in good condition. VERY confused. Anybody saw this messa...

will X60 work with SATA II hard drive?
since I have a noisy hard drive, I am thinking of changing the hard drive to a Fujitsu 40GB (Fujitsu is supposed to be quieter and 40GBs are quieter than 80GBs). But I can only find SATA II ones online, while the X60 comes with a SATA (I) hard drive. Will SATA II ones work with X60? Thanks for any f...

i have the X60 and i mainly use it on battery, so my observation might not apply to your situation, but here they are: 1. the fan VERY rarely goes on when running on battery, because the processor speed is lowered to 1GHz. 2. the hard drive is VERY audible, even from 1 meter away in a quiet room. I ...

X60 Hard Drive: Ultra DMA 2 or Ultra DMA 5?
I just discovered that the hard drive in my X60 is running under Ultra DMA 2. In the Hitachi Fitness Test, the driver information shows
Ultra DMA:
Highest mode: 5
Active mode: 2
Is there anything wrong?

My 8 cell battery is also loose. My hard drive (a Fujitsu 120 GB, 5400) is fairly quiet, and I haven't noticed any noise from the trackpoint. (I think I have good hearing. :D ) i've read from different places that the Fujitsu ones are quieter than the Hitachi ones. hope that's true and i can ask fo...

Re: New X60, 3 problems so far: Noise from Hard Drive/Trackp
There are two locking tabs on the underside of the machine which lock in the battery. One locks automatically and the other one must be slid into the lock position by you. If this 2nd tab is not locked, the battery will have more of a tendency to feel "loose." i already locked both locks, still had...

Every one of the issues you notice is normal. However, I only notice the trackpoint sound when I'm on battery. I cannot believe a normal hard drive would be so loud. I am using my old laptop (Gateway 200X) and the hard drive is completely silent from normal use distance. It's a 5400rpm Western Digi...

New X60, 3 problems so far: Noise from Hard Drive/Trackpoint
I received my X60 (170686U, with T2400, 8 cell battery) yesterday and I like it a lot. The laptop is well designed and the battery life is amazing. After playing with it for a whole evening, I discovered some problems. I don't know if it's normal to all X60 or it's only mine. Please comment, thanks....
