Re: T42 CPU upgrade

7 How can you find a 128GB mSATA SSD for £12? In Canada I can't even find a 64GB mSATA SSD for £12 equivalents! I went to Aliexpress and used my Topcashback to get (at the time 3 weeks back) a 9.35% discount making it £11.98 at the listing price on the day. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/400116199...

Re: T42 CPU upgrade

No, Chrome, not Google, is becoming more limited on XP. The BBC iPlayer no longer runs and several sites are scrambled or unreachable. I have concluded my Upgrades and the results are in. Stats attached. The performance boost is marked, although as I did each in increments as the parts didn't come a...

Re: T42 CPU upgrade

In process of a full makeover of my partner's T42 as she often needs 2x laptops when working on technical translations and XP GOOGLING becoming unworkable. So have installed Win7 pro, on an 80gb hdd, maxed out the ram to 2gb and tweaked the DNS to faster servers and is great, but as the upgrade cost...

I wasn't 'complaining' - I was trying to get to the bottom of no longer being able to connect to the Forum immediately AFTER attempting that link. Also - I am undertaking a Legacy project and those old posts are essential still. I have now changed back onto an old Router and the connection is achiev...

It failed to recognise these and since then I have been unable to connect to the forum via devices connected to my router. As you can see I am at another ip address c...

How to still access the net with my 760ED? 2016

I have a maxed-out 760ED (104mb) that works with both a PCMCIA Wifi and PCMCIA USB adapters without problem. However although happily running W98SE, it is the last OS that can run on it - W2K will run but is a documented conflict with the PC Card drivers (was never resolved) so negates any useful pr...

Need some key caps for my old Mum's T410

I have just got my 80 year old Mum a used T410 to browse and email with, but the A, R, M and N key caps are worn away completely and with her degenerative eye condition she is struggling to type. I have looked around, but current vendors who are offering replacements have no stock of these character...

I have a PCMCIA USB adapter in my 760 EL and can read 2Gb USB with it albeit it slowly - into W98se. I can also log into my TALK TALK BBand with a PCMCIA WiFi also but limited by a compatible Browser as constantly nagged to upgrade as all developers think we can just add new OSs at the drop of a hat!

Surprisingly, I still have occasional productivity out of my 760ED (104Mb) I have all the bells and whistles - max RAM (104Mb), 2nd HDD adapter, CDRom, 2xFDD including the 2.88Mb floppy and an external FDD caddy, numerous HDD adapters and the in-car DC adapter... I sold the ultraport though and the ...

Interesting that you too have a Midiman Parallel port interface. I bought one off eBay only to find from the manual that you need a dedicated Centonics (not printer) cable... all mine don't seem to work with it! I want to now use my 760ED for Midi seeing as it has the dedicated Midi/Joystick port. I have as yet had only limited success running Cubase 5 VST under W98SE, or even an old version of Evolution Pro. I don't want to run VST instruments as the spec won't handle that, just the Midi sequencing and inp...

Did anyone get a copy of this bundled with their 770 or 760ED?

It is listed as being in some specs and may be on the reinstall disks...

If so can I have a copy as I don't have the original installs for mine.

Hi

I know this is touched on in some other threads, but has anyone successfully got a Win ME setup on a 760?
