Re: New methods to reduce the fan noise in a T60 or in a T60p

Thanks to TuuS's recommendation and advise walking me through it, yesterday I completed installing one of his T61/t61p fans in my T60p, which has the T7600cpu and FireGL5250 card. It is not only more quiet than my original T60p fan but so far it is doing a better job keeping the system running coole...

Re: CPU Temperature

Recently I purchased a new T500 laptop from TuuS. (I say new because it arrived in absolutely MINT condition and it looks and feels like a brand new Thinkpad and I couldn't be happier!). Before shipping it to me, TuuS took extra effort to configure and optimize it's setup for me. The reason I mentio...

Re: T-series able to drive two 24" screens ?

For the last number of years, I have used my T60p thinkpad docked in an ThinkPad Advanced Mini Dock, with an x1300 card, to drive two 24" HP monitors at 1920x1080 resolution and it has worked like a charm! Fantastic resolution and great performance. Its been a great setup! Recently purchased a T500 ...

Sounds like having the 64bit T60p vs the 32bit is of no "real" advantage and is just another waste of money. Much like having 4gigs of RAM installed :)

that's weird about the 3GB sharp. Do you have 64bit hardware? Only the core 2 duos are 64bit as well as the Athlon 64 ofcourse. If you don't have 64bit hardware then it'll be the same issue with memory addressing. Does all Core 2 Duos 64bit? I have a T60p 2.33 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo with 64 kil...

Have you tried IBM Parts at IBM PARTS: 1-800-388-7080 (select option 2 then option 1 then option 1). If not, give it a try. That is where I purchased the 42R9910 Wireless LAN 3rd antenna for my 15-in T60p.

It is stories like these that continue to prove the Thinkpad is a very durable and well constructed system. There are many adjectives you can use to describe a thinkpad. Nice to know "Fragile" is not one of them. :D

I am really finding it hard to believe that in this day and age this type of memory restriction still exists in new laptops because of some very short sighted hardware limitations. Seems like a total lack of forward thinking by Intel's design team to me. Unbelievable!
