Re: Have you joined the 3:2 club yet?

I understand. However, that fact alone makes them a complete non-starter for silly old me. I understand that "silly old me" is just an expression, but in this case I do think you are being silly, refusing to adapt to new technologies. Eventually your T61p will be too old to do anything useful, you ...

Welcome to the forum!

I don't have any RAM to sell, but are you aware that these will take 2GB in a 2x1GB configuration of PC2100/2700 ?

Just as FYI.

Happy hunting

Re: T42 / T42p - Wi-fi chipset upgrade

You'll need to apply the "no-1802" hack first in order to remove the whitelisting from BIOS but the card that you're looking at should work after that, as long as it's in the proper mini PCI format.. I've been using TP Link 861N cards which utilize the same chipset for a decade or so now in A3x and ...

Welcome to the forum.

T61 was never shipped with W7, WXP and Vista only.

If either of these works for your needs, you can post a WTB (want to buy) ad in the forum's Marketplace and someone will be able to set you up with a set.

Good luck.

Now, you may want to "get under the hood" and re-paste along with installing Middleton's BIOS and then proceed with an upgrade or three more unless you intend it to just sit there as a museum piece.

Agreed. There's also an option of getting a Z61m board with Intel integrated graphics.

Re: Z60m/Z61m Motherboard Swap Questions

VRAM corruption has been observed on ATi-equipped units, and not just by yours truly.

Wi-fi cards are whitelisted, but there's a Zender's modded BIOS that helps one overcome that issue, along with a couple of other goodies...
