Re: I bought a broken T40!

I presume by 400mhz only I need to look at the 400mT/s ones, not the 533mT/s CPU's? So the highest there will be a Pentium M 765 2.1ghz... Doesn't seem that much of a jump, or does the architecture help a bit? Will probably max the RAM and pop a solid drive in first before going down the CPU route,...

It's our job to change it, approaching anyone inside Lenovo that can affect the position. I admire your optimism, old friend, but do not share it one bit. We've been trying to get Lenovo to listen for more than a decade now, with nothing to show for it. ThinkPad 25 - as many of us have suspected - ...

Yes.
And what sort of cable mods will have to be made exactly?
You need an extender from what I recall, the original cable is not long enough.

Re: IPS display for the older T500 and W500 series

'FlexView' is just a brand that IBM and later Lenovo used to describe IPS displays. The Lenovo monitor INF file stilll describes every IPS display as 'FlexView' as far as I know. Of course it's just a marketing term from many moons ago, but somehow when it's used even today I envision a 4:3 IPS dis...

What is the model for that? I remembered seeing a bunch of AUO panels but never seen a LG one before. You sure it is compatible with my T530 with proper EDID chip and stuff? The AUO ones aren't truly IPS Flexview, since their viewing angles can still suffer from extreme cases, unlike the UXGA panel...

I looked into this long ago, before i bought my T61. If i understood what i read then correctly, it's like this: if you have one 16 GB module, and add an 8 GB module, Intel chipsets are able to operate 8 GB of the 16 GB module and the 8 GB module in dual channel mode. The other 8 GB of the 16 GB mo...

Welcome to the forum!

No IPS LCDs are to be found for *00 series, there's a LG one that fits T/W 510/20/30 and is FHD. A cable mod will likely be required.

You *could* try installing Power Manager and Access Connections - no clue on how reliably these will run under W10 - and then use Fn+F5 to selectively turn off the BT.

Good luck.

Burn a CD (ISO file, bootable) using ImgBurn or a similar program, boot from the CD. flash the BIOS. Done.

It really depends on one's needs and expectations. I own a SATA-modded T43p, running an Intel X-25E SLC SSD and love it dearly. Having said that, web experiences in both W7 and Linux are less than stellar. The system struggles with today's web architecture due to its single-core CPU and no amount of...
