Good to hear that. Disappointed by the screen though. Have same problem with my screen, only couple of lenovo laptops have decent panel, rest is just bad. Have you tried calibrating the screen? That's an absolute must for these panels and there are some pretty decent profiles floating around the web.

I haven't touched W7 with an A31p in years. Personally, if it were not for the requirements of the software that I'm about to slap on mine, I'd be sticking to W2K on it, but XP SP3 is the oldest supported option...

Just return it. W530 is not exactly a rare system.

A proper LCD - not some piece of "compatible" junk - will run you more than $50 presuming that you can locate it to begin with.

Im pretty sure the Dreamcolor 2 LCDs are, a quick look on panelook shows there out there. DC2 was "billed" as a 10-bit panel AFAIK, although quite a few folks questioned the validity of that statement. A tech friend and I are working on a mod wherein we need to get the Nvidia Quadro 3700M to output to an 8 bit display rather than 6 bit.
Sheer curiosity on my part and completely off-topic: what's the end game? Why do you need the 8-bit output?

i'm interested, but how is the shipping cost from there to singapore? Ugh. You're looking at $90 in shipping, thanks USPS might there any differences with a 08/08 14.1" T61 i own too? Well, they are systems of a different size and not too many parts are interchangeable if that's what you're asking....

Is it possible to use panel from R40 in T22?
No.
If yes, can XGA panel be used with SXGA+ cables and inverter?
No. You need the cable that matches the screen resolution on old (pre-T60) ThinkPads, even if you were to source a proper T2x panel.

All of the *20 and *30 series models.

You can also use an mSATA card with an adapter in just about any other ThinkPad, folks around here have been running their T4x systems that way.

A31 was offered with weaker graphics and lacks the S-Video-In port as well. Not that it's a huge deal nowadays. 2. How reliable are them? Not. Reliable. At. All. Als...

Also, the notebook industry in general started moving towards slimmer designs - beasts like old Alienwares excluded - and a T30 was just way too bulky. A and G series are also an exception in that case. Not quite. A series was discontinued along with T30, give or take a couple of months. G series.....

The answer to your question(s) will depend on which T4x system - as well as which OS - we are discussing. On my SATA-modded 15" T43p running W7 Pro 360 is fine, 720 is pushing it and can be severely stuttering at times, using Pale Moon. Honestly, I rarely bother with YT on anything that sports a sin...
