Vista SP2 broke my Access Connections.
Now when I boot up, AC says I'm connected but I can't open any webpages at all.
I have to disconnect from my current profile, reconnect again before everything works fine.
Is nobody experiencing this???

Vista SP2 + Access Connections problem
Hi all, I was using Windows Vista with SP1 on my X60, and everything was working fine. My X60 would connect to the Internet (at home) right after I boot it up. After upgrading to SP2, Access connections would connect and say I am connected, but opening up IE results in a 404 error (meaning there is ...

Re: On screen display only shows a dot?
Thank you very much mixz1. You just saved me the thought of re-installing Vista just for this crappy bug!

To reply the original question, I'd say that it is OK, if you leave it there for like a few hours (like, when you need to go out for the day or something). But, not too to leave it like that for more than 3-4 days, IMHO. Personally, for storing batteries, I only store it at 40%, and it's working gre...

Great. This is just perfect. And I do not have to worry about the TP heat emission overheating the TP or damaging the LCD, when its lid is closed and the bottom attached to the UltraBase? I currently own a X60. Previously I owned an a20p. I bought a X60 as a replacement because I killed my a20p whi...

More RAM wouldn't hurt at all. Vista could always use all the RAM you give it. If you intend to do that though, I would suggest paying a few dollars off to get a higher-quality RAM like Crucial or Corsair ValueSelect, or you may face problems mixing RAMs of different brands in your current laptop. T...

You can try displaying an image with many dark/light edges on it for the monitor to sync on, then pressing the auto sync button on your monitor. I have to agree with trying that. I had to press the auto-sync button twice sometimes to get a sharp image. The strange thing with my monitor is that duri...

I have the same problems as well, with a X60. The settings are not "remembered" as well. But other times, it remembers after I had powered it on out of the ultrabay. One of the major issues I have is that if you have an ext. monitor plugged in, during BIOS boot up, the POST screen will go to the ext...

Thanks a lot for your help bhtooefr. I really appreciate that. I'll try running Memtest86+ later tonight. How do you think that might be the problem? The thread names are all called "ntkrnlpa.exe". It seems to be an NT kernel process, which explains why it can't be killed. Or it might be that the pr...

Same error message occurs; I can't kill the thread. I did however, try to suspend the threads one by one (there are 24 of them nasty critters). But the spike occurred with the next thread after I suspended the first one. This came to a point when the system simply locked up because I suspended too m...

This is a first generation X60 from Mar '06. The process is hidden under the "System" process, and it's one of the 10 or so threads that's spawned under it. Killing it does not work; some other thread with the same name just "takes over its job". I have tried a factory restore, no go there. I certai...

Re: Custom factory restore on a new computer
A combination of both. Important stuff like Rescue and Recovery, creating recovery media won't be listed but most other thinkvantage applications will be presented to you to choose from. Don't all Thinkpads come at factory settings? Why'd you want to do that again? Also, I'm not sure about the newe...
